I wanted to make this datapackor for halloween. But because I was lazy, it was delayed until now. :P
What can this datapack offer?
This pack adds a brand new monster type to the game that completely changes the gameplay. As well as new items to stop it, and a new enchantment to get with the new monster.
The new monster
> The new monster is an invisible, unhearablae, ..something. It moves in the shadows (5% chance of spawning with another monster). When it sees a player it runs very fast and gives them a near heart attack experience with some negative effects (in the form of jumpscare). It is very hard to run away from it, and almost impossible to swim away. So how do you beat it? One of the easiest ways is to lead you to a very bright place (light level 14-15). There he will die instantly. Or you can use one of the new items.
New items and enchantment
> In.Thr.Det. compass: put it in your offhand. If a monster is in a 15 block environment, it will make a sound (no position is shown.) Crafting recipe: stack 3 diamonds, a book and a compass.
> Pure light: covers a 15 block area, instantly destroying the monster that enters. If you kill them with this, they will roll shadowy shadow essence. To place it, drop it on the ground with q. Crafting recipe: drop a glass block and glowstone dust on a 14-15 light level block.
> Shadowy shadow essence: can be used for enchanting. Can be obtained using Pure light.
> New enchantment: darkness. Can be applied to the trident (drop the trident on the ground and 10 shadowy shadow essence on it). When a trident with this enchantment is placed in the ground, it creates a shadow "pool". All entities (except the player) will be infected with the darkness if they touch the "pool". They are slowed and get the wither effect. This lasts until they reach a very bright place or die. They can also pass the darkness to each other if they get too close.
Multiplayer
I don't know, if it's working in multi or not (because i didn't tested), but in paper, it should.
