Stick World
What if all chests on your minecraft world had their loot replaced with sticks? Sounds stupid, right?
This datapack does exactly that, replacing the ordinary loot of Minecraft structures' chests with a custom loot table made up from sticks which in appearance look ordinary, but have different effects when holding them in the right or left hands.
If you don't want to search structures for chests, using the /reload command will grant all the players a stick chest.
There are 3 types of sticks that can be found on chests:
- Attribute sticks. These will give any of the following attributes when holding them on right or left hands:
-Armor
-Knockback Resistance
-Health
-Attack Damage
-Speed
- "Good luck" sticks. Up to ten different sticks. These will grant potion effects, xp, change day/night and thunder/clear depending on the hand you use them, and other. Those who grant potion effects while holding them work on both hands, and only give one effect per stick. They don't give any attributes, with the exception of 1-10 luck when holding them on the left hand.
Note: There's a stick in this category which, when used to break dirt and sand, has a chance of dropping copper, iron, gold, emerald or diamond instead. Good luck distinguishing it from the others, though.
- "Bad luck" sticks. Up to ten different sticks too. Holding these on your main hand will result in terrible things happening, with high risk of death. They're what makes this datapack truly fun. On the offhand they give -(1-10) luck, opposed to "good luck" sticks. The way the ones intended to kill you work is special. Once you trigger one of them, you won't activate all the sticks that produce the same event again. However, dying resets all the deadly sticks and makes them able to activate again when held on the main hand. In multiplayer, this works independently for each player, implying that a deadly stick can trigger at least once for each player on the world. The nature of this deadly events is left for you to find out.
This datapack is compatible with 1.17 onwards. If you have any suggestions, please comment.
