watercolour paints I take it all back I'm sorry I doubted you. I think it was turning out frustratingly miserably because I was doing it all wrong. acrylic and watercolour are polar opposites and you cannot use one like the other.

does anyone else find the shift from "work" or "art" or "video" to the incredibly broad "content" and verbs and metaphors of food and "consumption" frustrating? like, once you eat food, it's gone; it passes through you like it was never there. it's always "consuming" and not reading, watching, playing, listening, literally anything more descriptive, like "content" is a endless, meaningless, homogeous flow to be devoured. the sense of ephemerality it gives (especially with how corporate the internet's getting) seriously unnerves me. is this just this tiny sphere I happen to be in? the people I see and talk to that are eerily enraptured by their phones yet so unfocused on what they're watching it's scary? will what I make be reduced to something like that: to be "eaten" and promptly forgotten? am I stuck in the past? I swear it wasn't nearly this bad a few years ago. I'll step off my anxious wordvomit soapbox now. good lird

the subtle sounds of the person playing in music recordings (like someone running their hands on the frets of a guitar, or the slight noise and delay of someone physically pressing down piano keys, people breathing before singing, or even laughing) have to be one of my favourite non-music parts of music. like, a human person, or a group of human people made these sounds with their hands and mouths somehow. even if it's heavily edited or totally electronic and none of that is present someone still sat down and made it. I'm not trying to make a point I'm just a pretentious sap

god I miss hfjone. watching it update was so awesome. it's the first object show that had me genuinely invested by breaking the competition format not in its absence but in a (well-executed!) inversion. the ending made me so sad and the epilogue investigations are amazing too

I want to pick up painting but all I have is watercolours which I don't really like the feel or look of. I miss acrylics; they were smooth and bright and great for making tiny details.

I'm excited to beat Kirby Star Allies's main story after not playing it for years so I can do the Guest Star mode. It reminds me of Meta Knightmare Returns which is awesome because I absolutely loved that mode (not dedetour though i hated dedetour and never finished it)
