Useful Armor - Absorption Addon

This is an alternative method of fortifying Minecraft's armor. Rather than having to heal yourself to make armor more helpful, you are granted with a variable Absorption effect every 20 seconds, depending on the Chestplate you wear. But due to Datapack limitations, I'm unable to stack these Absorption values, unlike the generic.MaxHealth attribute used in Useful Armor. Because of this, the Absorption is only bound to Chestplates. (And yes, this is compatible with the original Datapack.)

To encourage the use of Golden Chestplates, they bear the most Absorption.

The list:

Golden Chestplate: Absorption 10 (20 Hearts)
Netherite Chestplate: Absorption 9 (18 Hearts)
Diamond Chestplate: Absorption 8 (16 Hearts)
Iron Chestplate: Absorption 7 (14 Hearts)
Chainmail Chestplate: Absorption 6 (12 Hearts)
Leather Chestplate: Absorption 5 (10 Hearts)

I think you can stack the absorption just by checking how much armor the player is wearing? Eg "execute if (command to check what armor player is wearing) run effect give (the effect)." If the player is wearing leggings and chestplate then give a higher absorption effect than if the player wears either armor piece alone.

Hm, yeah, that's a great idea. I'll consider doing it when I get back into developing Datapacks.

Does absorbtion stack with golden apples / golden enchanted apples?

Unfortunately not. Absorption, as it stands now, is not an Attribute, therefore cannot stack. It must be a potion effect, and because of this, I had to apply the Absorption to Chestplates only.

The effect, however doesn't interfere with itself when different levels and times are applied. You will notice this when eating a Golden Apple and letting the Armor Absorption wear off.
