Required Resource Pack
19
This is a datapack project, developed by ItsRorny with help from DecafDawren, that aims to bring the world of Star Wars to Vanilla Minecraft!
The goal of Vanilla Star Wars is to create a well-made, performance friendly, and vanilla-styled datapack that adds many of your favourite Star Wars items to the game without seeming out of place within the Minecraft world. Everything in this pack, from the textures to the featured mechanics, is designed with the vanilla-Minecraft spirit in mind; all is envisioned to be as close as possible to how Mojang would theoretically approach the addition of these features to the game.
While heavily work in progress, this datapack currently adds to the game lightsabers that you can not only toggle, but also throw, alongside a few other minor and work-in-progress features.
I intend for Vanilla Star Wars to eventually feature far more than just lightsabers, including, but not limited to, mobs based on Star Wars creatures, functional blasters, the Force, and spaceships.
(Please note that this datapack depends on the attached resource pack in order to work correctly!)

This data pack is amazing! But I have one important question:
When can we expect spaceships in this date pack?
To answer your question, blasters are currently in the works, and a rudimentary shooting mechanism has been devised (though it's buggy and incomplete). I'm not sure exactly when they will become available, but progress is looking good!
Force features used to be available, but were incomplete and generally not great, so I'm looking to completely redo them some time. I'm struggling a little with the specifics though: for instance, how exactly would force abilities be activated in a way that's both convenient and consistent with Minecraft's already existing mechanics? Since it is impossible to set custom keybinds using datapacks, that's a question easier asked than answered. As such, I have no clue when I will be able to complete Force abilities.
For the future, know that the Vanilla Star Wars Database is the go-to place to learn more about the Vanilla Star Wars datapack and how to use it, including information such as how to craft and utilize items added by the datapack. It can be found here.
