Required Resource Pack

A project of mine, I've been working to add lightsabers into Minecraft via datapack.
Sabers are semi-modular, meaning you can build it from 15 hilts in 10 blade colors, for a total of 150 standard lightsabers.
Lightsabers
There are 2 main types of lightsaber: Normal and Unique. Normal sabers deal 6 damage and have access to multiple force powers. Unique sabers deal 9 damage, and have a saber throw and a special force power.
To use the primary force power, hold the lightsaber in your main hand and right click. To use the secondary force power, crouch and right click with the saber in hand.
Force Powers
Standard sabers can equip a primary and secondary force power, either using the trigger command or a book found in Jedi Enclave structures.
Force Pull (1) - Pulls and holds an entity towards you. After releasing, has a cooldown of 2.5 seconds. This does not work on players.
Force Push (2) - Pushes an entity away from you, up to 15 blocks. After release, goes on cooldown for 2.5 seconds. Does not work on players.
Force Dash (3) - After a short stall, sends you in a straight line 15 blocks in the direction of the camera. On cast, goes on cooldown for 5 seconds. Cannot be used in the secondary slot.
Force Shockwave (4) - Sends a projectile that travels a short distance. When it travels the full distance or hits a block, it explodes, dealing 5 damage and knocking entities away from it. On cast, goes on cooldown for 2.5 seconds
Force Heal (5) - Grants you 6 seconds of Regeneration III, enough to heal you to full from 1HP. On cast, goes on cooldown for 20 seconds.
Cycle (6) - Cycles the primary ability between all the other abilities. Does not have a cooldown, and cannot be equipped in the primary slot.
To swap force powers using commands, type /trigger <ls_primary/ls_secondary> set <power number>
Meditation
To change out your force powers, hold a standard lightsaber and look straight down for a few seconds. Once you have entered meditation, there will be a message in chat where you can click the force powers to change your primary and secondary force powers. As an added bonus, you will regenerate some health. To exit meditation, simply crouch as if to dismount.
Unique Force Powers
Unique sabers have their own force abilities, which cannot be changed around.
Saber Throw - All unique sabers have Saber Throw as their primary ability. They travel 15 blocks in the direction of the camera, dealing damage on the way. When they travel 15 blocks or hit a block, they return and deal damage on the return trip.
Blink - The Terminus has the Blink secondary ability. Blink sends the player up to 20 blocks in the direction they are facing. If you look at an entity, you will instead teleport behind them. On cast, this goes on cooldown for 2.5 seconds.
Force Slow - The Survivor has the Force Slow ability. This gives all entities within 5 block Slowness III and Mining Fatigue IV. This goes on cooldown for 20 seconds.
Flamethrower - The Darksaber does not have a force power associated with it, but rather a technology: the flamethrower. Using this ability makes a 5 block long line of fire for 1.5 seconds, igniting any mobs caught in the flames. Throwing the Darksaber at these ignited enemies will cause the Darksaber itself to ignite, spreading the fire to any other mobs it hits. After use, this goes on cooldown for 15 seconds.
Cooldown Indicator
When using lightsabers, there will be a cooldown indicator above the hotbar. This shows the cooldown on your primary ability (left) and secondary ability (right).
Dual Wielding
Dual wielding is possible with 2 standard lightsabers. When dual wielding, attacks damage an additional nearby mob. If the target mob is large, it will take double damage instead of hitting 2 mobs. If you crouch and attack, this double strike can be executed on any mob, but will prevent you from attacking again for 2 seconds.
Dual wielding bonuses do not currently work for unique sabers.
Crafting
To craft a standard lightsaber, you need 3 parts: a hilt, an eye of ender, and a kyber crystal. Once you have all the parts, drop them on top of a smithing table. 9 of the hilts are craftable, as well as 9 of the colors. The others are exclusive to the structures in this datapack.
Hilts
Kyber Crystals
Kyber Crystals all have the same crafting recipe, but with different ingredients. The Blue Kyber Crystal uses diamonds
The other colors use the following materials instead of diamonds:
Red - Redstone
Orange - Blaze Powder
Yellow - Honeycomb
Green - Emerald
Cyan - Prismarine Crystals
Indigo - Lapis Lazuli
Purple - Amethyst Shard
White - Quartz
Unique Sabers
Unique sabers are all made by dropping the ingredients on a smithing table.
The Darksaber - 1 Nether Star, 2 Netherite Ingots, 1 Eye of Ender
Terminus - 1 End Crystal, 2 Shulker Shells, 4 Obsidian.
Survivor - 1 Blue Kyber, 2 Fugitive Hilts, 2 Eyes of Ender OR 1 Fugitive Lightsaber, 1 Fugitive Hilt, 1 Eye of Ender
(Note: The Survivor will be blue regardless of what color lightsaber you use as an ingredient)
Survivor
Survivor is a very special saber. If you place it in your offhand, it will ignite the other blade and become a saberstaff. When in the saberstaff mode, the Survivor will deal less damage to a single enemy, but will also deal splash damage to nearby mobs. Additionally, using Saber Throw with the saberstaff will perform an orbiting attack, rather than a linear one.
Structures
This datapack adds 4 new structures. Each structure has an exclusive saber part that can spawn in the chests inside them.
Jedi Desert Hut
Based on Obi-Wan's house on Tatooine, this structure spawns in deserts and can have the Fugitive (Cal Kestis) hilt.
Jedi Swamp Hut
Inspired by Yoda's hut on Dagobah, this structure spawns in Swamps and Mangrove Swamps, and can have the Master (Yoda) Hilt inside.
Jedi Enclave
Inspired by the Enclave on Dantooine from the KotOR games, this structure spawns in Savanna and Wooded Badlands biomes, and can have the Twisted (Revan) hilt inside. Additionally, there is a book that provides a more immersive method of changing force powers.
Jedi Camp
Jedi Camps are small, humble tents found in the Cherry Grove biome. The tranquility of the cherry grove provides the perfect place to meditate. Each tent has a chest containing various saber parts, and a few Pink Kyber Crystals.
Displays
Lightsaber Displays exist as a way to place a lightsaber on top of a block. To get one, put a wooden sword on the crafting table, surrounded by 4 sticks. Place it down on the block you want the hilt of the lightsaber to rest on.
To rotate or remove displays, you need a display wand. To craft it, place an armor stand on the crafting table surrounded by 4 sticks. Crouch and right click with the wand to select the function (rotate 45/90/180, remove) and right click to execute that function on the nearest display.
Troubleshooting
If force powers do not work, use /reload. This will set up all of the scoreboards for all players currently in the world.
If the Survivor's saberstaff throw creates tons of sabers, type /kill @e[tag=orbiting_saber]
If the dash ability gets canceled and the cloud particles keep playing, type /tag @s remove ls_dash
Commands
To get the lightsabers with commands, use /function lightsabers:give/<hilt>/<color>
To get special lightsabers, use /function lightsabers:give/<black/end/survivor>
To get hilts, use /function lightsabers:give/hilts/<hilt>
To get kyber, use /function lightsabers:give/kyber/<color>
The lightsabers make a hum when you hold them. If you want to turn this off, use /scoreboard players set ls_options ls_disablesound 1
There is also a setting for the maximum throwing distance. This can be changed with /scoreboard players set ls_options ls_throwdist <value>. The default is 15.
There are other options for the same thing:
ls_orbitdist
ls_orbitradius (in tenths of a block)
ls_tpdist
ls_dashdist

Yes, you need both the resource pack and the data pack for this to work. The datapack provides all of the features of the pack, and the resource pack provides all of the looks. If you have both and it isn't working, something in my packs is probably outdated and I need to go through and update things.
Hope this helps!

/kill @e[tag=thrown_saber]
Unfortunately, I have no idea what is causing this bug, so this command is the best I can do for now. Hope this helps!
-Artanis
thnx
This is purely a visual difference. Instead of not being affected by darkness (like the glow squid and the eyes of spiders and endermen), the blades will be slightly transparent. The sabers will still make light when you hold them
