This datapack applies the balancing modifications that I use for my servers in almost vanilla survival. I tend to reinforce rare mobs and amplify their characteristics a little.
Maybe it can be of use to other players.

List of features that increase the challenge :
- Endermans can now blind close players (only in overworld).
=> I thought they weren't scary enough anymore
- Ghasts gain 40% resistance
=> They're STILL OneShot by returning a fireball, which is nice. But, without this datapack, a simple arrow with a power 1 bow does the same thing, only easier. Now the big Ghasts survive the first arrow.
- Spiders sometimes randomly gain a speed bonus (40% for 3 seconds)
=> Spiders have less HP and Damage than other basic mobs, only a better mobility. This aspect is now amplified and their speed is less predictable.
- Witchs gain 20% resistance
=> Witches are rare mobs with more advanced behaviour. This little resistance bonus is enough to make battles against them more interesting.
- Wither Skeleton gain 40% resistance and +10% chance of dropping a skull (2,5% → 12,5%)
=> This skeletons are bigger and use close combat. Why aren't they more resistant than the usual skeletons ? It's now solved. ( Besides, it's not a mob you can face at the start of the game. ) But this made harvesting the skulls too tedious, so I increased the drop rate.
- Slims gain 20% resistance and regular regeneration III phases (Cancelled by fire)
=> Slims are rare mobs and it's not a mob you can face at the start of the game. This modifications has no impact on small slimes. But the big ones are getting harder to beat. Their weakness against fire is maintained or even slightly increased.
- Silverfishs become enraged after 1 to 10 seconds (randomly) when they spawn from a block or a spawner. They evolve from a simple nuisance to a deadly threat ( Damage 1=>7 )
=> Bane of Arthropods is now a little more useful and the Stronghold and its special mob are even more fearsome, making exploration even more intense.
- Adult polar bears gain a roar ability, inflicting Weakness on the player closest to them.
=> It is now more risky to face a polar bear alone. Bears being tall and rare, this ability makes them significantly more resistant in close combat.
- Piglin Brutes gain a gold helmet and a cosmetic shield that breaks as soon as the mob loses half its life.
=> The goal of this change is to make it easier to distinguish Brutes from other Piglins and to provide a simple indicator of their state of health.
- The Wither boss can replace the witherII effect affecting the nearest player with a weakness effect and sometimes summon Wither Skeletons (1 per 30sec)
=> This new mechanic encourages weakened players to adapt, as they will clearly inflict less damage in close combat. With the addition of Wither Skeleton, this boss will be more likely to be defeated in an organised group.
Players could also take advantage of the weakening mechanic to shorten the wither poison, even if it means suffering the weakening instead.

List of features that make the experience easier :
- Cats slow down creepers in a wide radius (as well as scaring them at close range) Creepers around them can also drop more gunpowder.
=> Cats are pets, but they're not very useful. This datapack amplifies their role as a nemesis to creepers.
- Phantoms can only spawn during the 50 seconds around Midnight.
=> There are far too many phantoms at night, and they keep respawning if a player doesn't sleep often enough. This datapack makes phantoms much rarer without removing them completely.
- Iron Golems and Villagers heal briefly every 20 minutes ( 4HP)
=> This feature prevents villagers from dying from small wounds accumulated over a period of hours. Iron Golems often suffer damage and will ultimately die if no one repairs them, but they will last slightly longer on their own.
- Horses ridden by players give their riders a resistance of 40%.
=> Fighting on horseback in minecraft isn't easy and doesn't really offer any advantages: a player on foot is just as resistant as a horseman. This datapack fixes that
- Parrots regularly increase the luck of the nearest player for a few seconds.
=> Parrots are rare, fragile and cannot breed. They have no gameplay utility. With this datapack, they sometimes confer the Chance 2 effect (which is mostly useful when fishing).
- Ocelots generate XP orbs when chased
=> It's another rare mob that wasn't meant to be used for anything, but now finding one gives you a bit of XP. This effect cannot be accumulated with several ocelots, consequently, they cannot be used to build an effective XP machine.
- Using Shift with a torch in hand allows you to indicate your position to other players via the Glowing effect.
=> It's not always easy to spot your fellow adventurers in minecraft, so this feature makes it easier to communicate your position.
- Honeycomb blocks sometimes apply a heal effect. StoneCutters inflict damage. Soul fire inflicts wither damage to anyone who steps on it.
=> These latest modifications give these blocks a number of properties to exploit.
