World Oaths

🪶 Overview

World Oaths transforms Minecraft survival into a world of ancient promises.

At the start of your journey, you’ll craft a simple altar and make a choice that shapes your entire playthrough — your Oath.


Each Oath grants you powerful blessings and unique abilities, but also binds you with a curse.

Break your promise, and the world itself will punish you.

Stay faithful, and your Oath will reward you with the strength of nature, water, fire, or stars.

⚔️ The Four Oaths

🌿 Oath of Roots (The Forest Engineer)

Live in harmony with the forest.

Gain Haste and Regeneration near trees, and nature will replant itself around you.

But dig too deep beneath the ground without sky or leaves above, and the spirits of the forest will not forgive you...


Blessings:


+Haste I and +Regeneration I near trees and leaves

Saplings automatically replant nearby

Nature may bless you with extra drops


Curses:


Mining stone or ores underground without open sky → Mining Fatigue + Rooted mobs

Fire spreads faster around you

🌊 Oath of the Depths (The Underwater Nomad)

The sea becomes your home — breathe, move, and see clearly underwater.

But sunlight burns your strength, and the land grows weary of your presence.


Blessings:


Permanent Water Breathing, Dolphin’s Grace, and Night Vision underwater

Boats move ~30% faster





Curses:


Weakness I and Slowness under direct sunlight

Crops grow slower in chunks where you linger too long

🔥 Oath of Ember (The Walking Furnace)

Harness the power of flame! Half your ores and meats smelt instantly.

But beware — water is your enemy, and rain will scorch your skin.


Blessings:


50% chance for ores/meats to drop pre-smelted

Fire Resistance in the Nether





Curses:


Rain deals damage and slows you

Touching water disables Ember powers for 30 seconds

🌌 Oath of Stars (The Nocturnal Wanderer)

The night sky watches over you. Sleep under the stars to gain mysterious blessings — but beware the power of insomnia.


Blessings:


After sleeping, gain a random “Gift of the Night” (Strength, Speed, Haste, or Luck) for 10 minutes

Phantoms drop double loot and rare “Spark of the Sky”




Curses:


Phantoms grow stronger after 3 sleepless nights

Slight Luck penalty during daytime


TEST VERSION


There may be problems with the roots class that I am trying to fix.
The datapack has only been tested on version 1.20.4!
