Hey everyone!
I am excited to announce my mythology themed skinning contest.
Prizes
1st Place:
10$ in any sort of gift card
A digitally drawn gif avatar of your submitted skin
2nd Place:
A digitally drawn gif avatar of your submitted skin
3rd Place:
A digitally drawn avatar of your submitted skin
Entry Requirements
You need to submit a skin before 8/20.
No inappropriate skins.
No stolen skins (duh)
The submitted skin must be made specifically for this contest.
Post a comment indicating that you want to join this contest. Once you've finished your skin comment the link to it under your initial comment.
Theme
The skin must be in some way related to a mythological concept.
Examples for mythologies are: Indian, Egyptian, Nordic, Greek, Roman and whatever you can think of.
Feel free to represent your own culture with pride and creativity.
Try to do something unique like representing the Bibles 10 commandments in one skin.
Rating
I will rate the skins on a number of criteria:
-aesthetic
-design
-historical accuracy
-creative approach
-intricacy
Try to plan your skin according to these. You can sacrifice historical accuracy for creativity, or the intricacy for design and so on-
The ratings will result in a grade (0-10), which will be added to your score.
There will also be a poll once submissions are closed. Each vote will be added to your score.
The score will determine your place on the leader board. In case of ties within the top 3, the grades from the rating process will decide. If these too match, there will be another poll.

I'd love to join! And I know someone that is very underrated (granted, I know a lot of underrated characters from world myths, like Väinämöinen or Hé-no). All I'm going to say is, this person in particular is of Celtic origin, and he's a bad guy.

please remember, that in 2 days (20th) at 9pm(cet) submissions will close and i will start another thread for you and anybody else to vote on. The voting will be open for 2 days, at which point i will add the grades to your scores and post the leader board.
The first places prize of a 10$ gift card will be given out immediately and i will then start working on the avatars starting from the top.
Voting will be on a strawpoll with live vote display turned off.
To BlossomRuna, Outlandish and MustyPotato21: please make sure to get your submissions ready.
To Aramis95, BashfulGhost and PersonWhoPlaysMinecraft: you've allready done a great job^^
Please also maybe inform some peeps that might be interested in participating last minute, if you don't mind.

This contest is meant to be for player skins only, as i'd like to keep an even playing field. Mob skins may give you a larger canvas, but depending on the mob, I could probably make an exception. ;)

Maybe change the "PRICES" to "PRIZES" so no one gets confused, they're technically prizes.

Double checked, I don't think the terms of service disallow this contest. If there are any rules I am not aware of please notify me of them, I do not want to do anything that is not ok.

Because the rules don't say anything about that. They say you can't demand money for assets or sell them, but i think that people putting a lot of work into something deserve something cool. As long as it doesn't violate any rules I'd love to do this contest.
