Any sort of gaming war is, in my honest opinion, a bunch of baloney. Like the console war BS: why in the name of hell do you give a shit if someone plays a different console than you? We're all gamers. It doesn't matter what we play or what console we play on. The same applies here. It doesn't matter what version of Minecraft people play; it's still Minecraft.

Opinion from someone who has used both in the past year: Personally think Java is better, but both are really good and have their advantages. A lot of people are commenting on performance differences between the 2 versions? Idk what that's about, but ok. I love that Java has an actually decent modding platform, and servers on Java are much more accessible. Redstone also makes a lot more sense and Java (for some random inexplainable reason) has a bunch of features Bedrock doesn't like the map and banner trick. However, I do very much miss some of the other multiplayer features on Bedrock -mainly the ability to join another person's world without a server.

Mojang should honestly combine them together somehow, its pointless keeping them apart.

Yes, the bantering about the fact that Java is clearly the most capable and other versions are garb by design and not allowed to be as great should stop. The other versions should be brought to the same lvl and then true native x-play would be groovy. This is the best inflam I got rinao.. sry :|

Java Is Just More Stable And better for modding compared to bedrock bedrock in conclusion sucks.
