Hey! So, today I was looking for a gaming laptop, and couldn't really find one. I have a budget of 1000 800€, preferably a little under that, too. And please don't suggest things that are like small desktops, I need it to be portable :/ Anyway, thanks in advance!

Would an Asus F550JK-DM121H be good? It looks quite good.

I personally like Alienware laptops, if you have the money.

Note: To anyone about to hate, this is an opinion of mine, the op can make the comparison on his own

I don't have any hate for alienwares, but they look like they are really heavy and bulky. Although if I buy an alienwares i get a free 32" TV..

They are actually pretty light, and have a nice, new design.
I believe they just got this design a year or two ago.

This is mine. I picked it up a while ago brand new for $400. If you can look around a bit you could find it cheaper. It's 2.5 Ghz quad core, 8GB RAM. It runs great.
I constantly use a 512 texturepack on Minecraft and experience no lag ever, even when it rains. I also always have like 20 some tabs on Chrome open, FileZilla, Skype, MC, tons of folders open, and more as I'm a server owner. This is plenty enough for casual gaming.

Edit: It is AMD, which turns a good amount of people away, but there's no issues with the CPU.
http://prntscr.com/7vazlp This is what it looks like now. 20% CPU usage and 80% RAM usage with all of the above open, I have 17 Chrome tabs open, MC, Skype, FileZilla, and 8 folders up. Not noticing any bit of delay.

Well, if it'll run ARK decently, and record minecraft, then I'm fine with it. Design isnt the best though, but that's just the looks, so its not so important.

Slightly over your budget (I believe, I'm not good with Euro to Dollar conversions.), but it will do everything you want to do with it, and more I believe.

This one seems pretty good, although was this the one with the "Screen falling off" Issues or something LOL. Anyway, seems like a solid laptop!

That's 999€ in my local store. Seems pretty good, although im going to take a look at their other Y-series laptops!

EDIT:
They have that one, except with an i5 in stock near me currently

i5 will run everything you want without problems, but if you ever expand and get into bigger games, an i7 will hold its own a little better.

Why laptops? They are heavily over priced envelopes with poor specs. If you want to game, build a gaming computer. It is the cheapest option and you get some good experience with computers. Laptops are very pricey gimmicky things that some people think are the only computers in the world.

Rant aside, build a gaming desktop. If you need something to carry around all the time for gaming, then get a laptop (most people with gaming laptops end up gaming only in one location).

If you must have a laptop, and all you're playing on it is Minecraft and Cities: Skylines as you said, you really don't need a "gaming" laptop. If I may suggest something like this laptop, as it is thin, light, portable, and has enough processing and graphics power to keep things rolling. I would also suggest upgrading your RAM and your storage should you want, using these parts. Although there is less storage, it should be lightning fast, and you can always use the old hard drive as an external one should you need more storage.

However, as I know others have suggested it, I would like to implore you build a PC. It's quite easy, as these videos will show you:

[yt]Sr3MgKkS314[/yt]

[yt]ibrFh6Ogzh8[/yt]

As you can see, people young and old can do it. It's not very hard, I promise. Plus, you get a lot of performance in a small package, as they do make PCs that can fit into backpacks.

For example, this AMD-based build will have MUCH better performance than the laptop, costs 3/4 of your budget, and fits in a backpack. It would be a wise investment to go with that. On the Intel side, you can go with a build like this and stomp both the laptop and the AMD-based build, at the cost of going over your budget (Windows will be another 100 euros).

Regardless of what you choose, good luck!

Oh well... Thing is, i want to be able to go to LAN parties or to my cousin's place with this thing, so yeah. I dont really care what processor or GPU it has, but as long as it does the trick. Something that could hold up while streaming Minecraft and maybe playing Cities: Skylines, Counter Strike, and maybe some other stuff too. That was the basic idea. Cause if i have a desktop that fits in a backpack, i would have to drag along a keyboard, mouse, and monitor aswell.

EDIT: Oh yeah, and ARK aswell!

When would you be streaming / playing and not at home at the same time.
You don't need a gaming laptop for the games you listed, you just need one with either integrated Intel graphics (like the Intel HD Graphics 4400), an AMD APU, or something along the lines of a GeForce 840m.

I think I'm leaning towards an acer v5 nitro model. Razer Blades are not available in the EU, and I really like the design of those laptops. Acer was the closest I could find.

If you have the money, an Alienware is a great thing to go for (prepares for hate), but that is IF you have the money. It's like buying a Ferarri rather than an ugly kit car lol

Its not like buying a Ferrari* rather than a kit car, since the difference between something like a 458 is hundreds of thousands of dollars more than some fiero kit car.

It's like buying a BMW M3 for three times the money because someone put a Pagani logo on it.

You aren't going to find a "gaming laptop" that works well, I would just get a dell laptop or something with a good CPU, GPU, and 4-8 gb's of ram for around your budget.

and to anyone that says dell makes bad computers, you don't know what you are talking about at all.

This^

Alienware's aren't even good.

Except it's more like taking a Mustang, putting a BMW body on it, then throwing a Pagani logo on it.

Alienwares overheat, have cheap hardware inside them, and also from what I've seen, not the best customer support. Their PSU's are pure garbage, and so are the motherboards.
You'd be better off with a desktop + a normal laptop for light gaming and basic needs.

I'm considering a refurbished Razer Blade 2014, but I don't know if I could shell out enough for that. Is a refurbished 2014 one a good idea at all?

And if you want to build a pc, check out this website: http://pcpartpicker.com/
It has a bunch of people that submit their builds, so you can find parts that fit your price range.
Or check this laptop out: http://www.amazon.com/Acer-Aspire-VN7-5 ... 3012497011
Amazon should ship to Europe

Is it really portable though? I like how the blade is slim, with 14" but still powerful. I need to have it in a backpack...

Check this one out. It's a little over 1,000 Euro, but it should work perfectly.

If you don't need a laptop, I would recommend building a desktop, as it will be cheeper, and you'll get higher end parts at a lower price, but I can understand you needing a laptop.

That's actually pretty good, but newegg doesent ship to Europe, does it? I was thinking about building my own desktop, but I would struggle to pick parts and actually build it. And a laptop would be good cause I might need to go around with it so..
Oh yeah, and 800-900€ would be good, but idk if I'll find anything for that price..
