Due to recent changes of FCC regulations which include companies now allowing to buy and sell your personal information, the entirety of this post has been made irrelevant. I hope that things change for the better in the future, but for now I only have this to say to any person in this day and age that uses the Internet for personal or business: Be careful where you browse, what information you give and be sure to clear your browsing and cookie history regularly.
Not entirely sure how networking between nations will be affected by this as I live in the United States. Feel free to comment to this thread any ideas/suggestions you have and I might include it.

Very good read.

Very long, but detailed and good to read. .o.
Age and the date of birth are safe to share since its incredibly hard to find the person your searching for [I tried it with friend, both of us failed .o.] with only their birthday and age, cause there's a lot of people with the same age, and possibly the same birthday date. Unless you have some superpower making you able to track someone with their age and date. Then your just over powered. First names are also alright, as long as its not a special special thing where your the only one with the name. Last names are more dangerous then first names..But you still want to be careful with first names, including if there's a very specific way of spelling it like...Ashley, as Acheley.

That was one hell of useful piece of information, "sadly" I knew a lot of them already.
Personal info,
That is one of the reasons I don't sign up a lot. Although it bugs me a bit that my e-mail contains my name and guess what. Al the general free e-mail providers asks a lot more of you than in the past.
Search engines,
Maybe add a bit about the searchbubble http://dontbubble.us/ (yes hidden advertisment of duckduckgo in it but still true).
And try to realize what those companies knows about you in the shadows. And how it affects the results.
Passwords,
Use different passwords in case one of the sites got hacked. Instead of changing them all only one. For the lazy ones. Use unique passwords for e-mail and bank.
Sites like this more standard passwords.

YOu should also store passwords on something such as a log book rather on a PC, that is a VERY bad move

Updated the post, this thing is long...

Wow. This is some really helpful advice. Good job!

On "howsecureismypassword.net", I tested 2 passwords.
A simple one "bob and joe are cool", very easy to remember,
And a password that most "experts" would call "hard to crack", S!@yeR92 (Slayer92)
S!@yeR92 = 3 days
bob and joe are cool = 9 quadrillion years (345 thousand years without the spaces)

Well this is how the computer would crack it, not how someone would guess it.
1
Yes, but even so, it's unlikely that someone would guess "bob and joe are cool", even if they were human.
EDIT: Especially if you added an "@" or something similar at the end.

Well yeah, because S!@yeR92 only has 8 characters. If you add one more character to that, it becomes 275 days; one more, 58 years, etc. It exponentially gets difficult with more entropy. It's about entropy, not complexity. Complexity adds more theoretical entropy, but a password cracker cannot know whether or not your password has any given character in it, so its theoretical entropy is a non-issue. Nobody would call an 8 character password "hard to crack". Those aren't experts, they are idiots.
99% of "password steals" are not through brute forcing or guessing users' passwords, they are through social engineering and server compromisations that store passwords in an insecure manner.

And that's how I lost all my loot in Runescape that one time. Remember, kids, don't share your passwords for free gold and levels.

I wouldn't go that far. I would still be careful. Also, many people can make it appear as if a real company was asking for your information and scam you.

What's the new addition? The bit about dating?
EDIT: oh duh, there's a changelog.

Updated this as well as stickied. I know there's still some missing parts to it, but I will get to those either later tonight or early tomorrow. If anyone has suggestions for what to add, feel free to leave a comment.
EDIT: I know there are some things broken, will fix next time I update it.

One easy and fun way to find out a lot about a person is to look at his or her YouTube comments.Find out which type if videos he or she likes and look for their comments under the video? No, it's not nearly that difficult. By default, all YouTube comments are shared to a user's Google+ page, giving any stalker interested individual a treasure trove to skim through of the videos or channels that user likes or hates, as well as his or her opinions and experiences with the subject of the video. This can give the stalker interested individual a shockingly clear picture of who this user is, even if he or she hasn't provided any personal information to Google+.You have a wealth of information at your fingertips, but other people can have a wealth of information about you if you're not careful.
Click to reveal
I've tried it before. It scares me how easy it can be, even when trying against people who say they haven't shared much about themselves. Other people have done this to me, but because I've turned off sharing my comments to Google+, all they've been able to tell me about myself is that I watched a lot of Etho videos a while ago.
1
Actually, no. Now, YouTube disables sharing your comments/like history on your channel by default. I made an account a few weeks ago and sharing everything except uploads is disabled, lol

TL;DR, everyone on the interwebs are old men, and cannot be trusted.
That's what I got from it, anyways.

If someone want to be safe while surfing in internet I advice to use TOR Browser. Its nice tool!
1
Tor is not safe. Only thing tor is good for is privacy.
1
And Tor makes you able to go on the deepweb if I'm not mistaken, which has it's reasons for being inaccessible by regular browsers.
1
Tor is no longer private, the government managed to access it and monitor it
1
How exactly they do that? Its only rumours... Tor broweser dont gives you 100 proc. safe, but greatly increase your anonymity.
