PC vs Mac

i perfer the look of mac sortof, but im a minecraft gamer and i know from experience that it runs really well on pc compaired to mac, i guess for to look i really hate the close thing on the left ..... but WINDOWS FTW

Well Apple was stolen really.

Mac was based off of Debian (stolen really) and on top of that Jobs stole everything from Wozniak and screwed him over.

PCs don't have a bad history, so ethically speaking, PCs are better.

PC wins because it just does.

This whole "virus" argument does annoy me. I've been using a windows PC for 8 years now, want to know how many viruses I've ever gotten?

None. 0. Zero. Naught.

The reason windows uses get (on average) more viruses is because more of the population use windows, thus there are a higher percentage of idiots who don't take care when browsing, thus they get more viruses. As everything stands right now, if mac simple had more users (and the technology was identical) then mac would have more viruses because of the larger number of stupid people.

No matter how you look at it the choice is purely personal, and it doesn't really matter either way. The only proven fact is that a PC is cheaper, even for the same/higher specs. (for a given value of higher).

Well... PC's can run lots more programs than mac and are better for programming and stuff like that, but macs like do not get viruses EVER. If you have a mac and want windows use apples Bootcamp program or something like that.

i use pc i like it better then mac for many reasons one reason is that macs are compatible with NOTHING like half the games that are for pc mac cant handle

You really just get viruses from porn sites, and when you don't pay attention. Yeah there are only a few exceptions. So with common sense you can really get no viruses.

PCs lag if you use them wrong. Mac is simple so you can't screw it up.

Windows, Mac=No Flash, harder to use (For me), and less possibilities of maximising your performance, I think Mac even uses more RAM, but I'm not sure on that one.

Mac all the way! Windows sucks... Except when it's Windows running on a Mac, then it runs pretty nice.

I rather a mac. PCs piss me off because 1. they lag HORRIBLY
2. They get LOADSA viruses.
3. Even with an antivirus program, it is still
crappy because it ruins your browsing.

i like macs cause i never get lag and its always super fast and everyone who hates the control click thing it takes like 5 seconds to get used to then you dont want to right click anymore

Although I used to be a PC user, I have to say a Mac is so much better. I admit it is not made for gaming and stuff, but it is excellent when it comes to music and picture editing. I have had this Mac for about 2 years now and I have never come across a single problem. No viruses, no nothing. The reason I had to swap from a PC is the fact that although I had great protection against viruses it was "infected" and had to go. YES, Windows has got to load tons of services,
whereas Macs are reasonably minimalistic when it comes to services.

customizable. macs are not. well skiping to the point it depends what kind of pc you get. my pc sucks on crap. and it depends what mac you get. but macs are kinda pricey so its your choice...

It's not just Mac V.S PC, it's Mac VS PC VS Open source! I use Ubuntu, Windows and Mac OSX!

PC - Fast, reliable, easy to write for, safe (with good virus protection)

Mac - So-so speed, hard to write for (why there aren't many viruses), little/no need for protection.

PCs are better, really Linux is the best, but Windows works too.

This is a stupid question, because honestly there is no question which is a better computer. PCs out-do macs in every single category. Period.
Macs are good computers for people who like shiny looking computers, and really don't know how to use a computer to it's full ability. If you are a person who knows exactly how a computer works, and can code in multiple languages, and take apart your computer and put it back together again, you are a person who would know that Macs are just extremely overpriced, and still don't even come close to the abilities of a good PC.

Hey all, I myself have a macbook, have done for about three years now and it's still as fast as the day I received it! It's outlived it's price (£800) in my opinion, and Minecraft plays beautifully on it!

I prefer mac . Pc works as it should about 80% of the time. Then you get all that (not responding) bullshit.

The worst ive had was a "rainbow wheel" for a few seconds. Plus, it runs minecraft flawlessy, and thats the only game I ever play on a desktop.

Macs FTW, I know PCs are a bargain compared to a mac, but PCs suck in SO many ways. First of all, they attract viruses like food attracts flies. You need to get anti-virus programs and need to waste time scanning and such. I own a MacBook Pro, 1 year and 6 months, never had a virus and working fine. Second, the look, windows are flat out UGLY, mac is minimalist and user friendly, but still offers advanced tools for the nerds (like me). Then there is the laptop itself, Apple makes the laptop and the operating system, so you can go to an apple store to buy everything Apple has, with Windows you have to go from store to store looking for a specific type. Yes, Windows is more popular, why? Because they are available on different laptops, but mac has much more potential, as said by many tech magazines such as PopularScience, Windows has been "standing still" and not advancing much between updates, while Mac is racing ahead. Of course, people who need to be "compatible" with the rest of the world (But not with Mac or Linux) use Windows because more people make software for Windows. But one thing that needs to be set straight is that Bill Gates actually copied some of Apples work, he worked as a "middle man" giving Apple
good technology, in return for information, then one day he started Windows, which looks very much alike to the old Mac, VERY much so. Plus, Windows lag... a TON. People say Windows is more of a "gaming computer", which is true, some times, but with most games, like MineCraft, RuneScape, and other graphic intensive games, Mac wins. Hands down.

So, for all you people who think Windows is more popular because it has been around for much longer you are wrong. Very wrong.

I would choose PC, although my friends Macbook Pro Laptop is uber-fast and is awesome when you play minecraft with nearly no lag whatsoever. I am used to PC more than Mac, so that is why i would choose PC.

I prefer PC, just the quality of gaming on PC's are better than that of Macs.

Although I do have a Macbook Pro Laptop and an Asus Laptop.

On a side-note: This better not turn into a flame war against each other.

I really like macs but they are so damn expensive, I have never owned one (Unless you count a Macintosh Performa 200) So windows FTW

I use a gaming laptop, now 2 years old. It's an ASUS model. I love it, never had any problems

I've hadto replace 3 laptops because of viruses etc,

I now use a standard macbook that i bought 2 years ago, I haven't had a single virus or anything go wrong with it in those 2 years.

It's obviously not meant for gaming, I use my mac for hassle free browsing, a few games and recording music/editing photos etc, which for all of those things it's amazing

if i was a serious gamer though, I would buy a gaming PC.

PC is more popular for a reason. I could give you so many reasons but I don't want to waste my time posting it.

I think Windows is the best because Windows is cheap, reliable, faster, better with games, and more famous than Mac. That is my reason why Windows is better than Mac. 100% positive.
