Where am I?

Life on the internet now a days is like wandering in a field of "Where the hell am I and who am I around?"
Now listen, I have a good job with good pay but this requires me to advertise on many places using many different things. And I can tell you right now, through the internet is not a good idea.
I market corporate services and I end up going on servers, posting on forums, private-messaging people online who seem like they have their things together. And yet, every person I end up taking to is a kid who actually is full of ignorance and doesn't know what they're doing. I'm not trying to actually sell stuff to a kid, okay? They lie about their age, they act like adults, but when it comes down to business they turn into major kids and end up sealing the deal with a "Screw yourself" < Respect much?
And also, when I call random numbers on the phone (you all know it happens and is a common marketing technique) most of the time I end up calling kids and have to immediately hang up. Why give a kid a phone with a number that anyone can call, anyways?
It seems like it is impossible to reach out to the right audience, anywhere, and it's starting to ruin my career.
Also, have we reached the times where when someone says "I work for ... " and immediately I get "How do we know who you say you are?" Well, how do I know you're not a 2 year old? Or, why would a guy that isn't what he says he is be crawling into a chat with you about a deal that is pretty much useless to someone who isn't who they say they are (what?) Ok well do you want me to fax you my company badge and driver's license and then we can talk, or WHAT, buddy, I'm just throwing out an offer not trying to claim custody of your little ---moving on.
People, you don't need to be rude to us people who call you to market business services. Just be polite and say why you don't want our service, and you'll be left alone. Meanwhile I'm getting banned and kicked and yelled at left and right for asking a simple question of "Would you like to switch to a cheaper, better host?"
Kms now because this is one messed up world/generation. I'm going to have to start walking up to strangers to market the stuff I'd usually do by a simple phone call. But no, I'm 100% sure that's illegal aswell.
1000 calls, 1000 messages, 1000 meetings, 4 total clients. Open your mind to new possibilities instead of succumbing to your own ignorance and being closed minded about something.

I read the whole thing and I do understand why you would make a huge rant about it. However the thing I quoted abouve is the one that I can explain to you.
In today's world you can use a quote that I've heard from a danish rapper: "Alle taler men ingen hører!" Translated it means: Everyone talks, but nobody lisints!
And honestly this is exactly what people do today. You talk, but people don't lisint to you and reply with a: Go pug yourself!
Humans today as I've seen them act around them selves. They're rude to the once that they don't like. If I say something that sounds racist in someone's head. They'll attack me on just that note. They won't look into what "Racist" means, or what I actually said.
It's the same here for you, and while YES it's hard to understand why we as humans can't just be a little polite to each other.
You call someone and ask if they want a better server. They instantly attack you on the note that you're trying to take their money, and they don't look into what your service can offer, or what you were going to tell them.
I see the point in advertising, I really do. It's kind of important otherwise the world markets simply wouldn't work, and given the way advertising has evolved, the only way to advertise is to shove crap in people's faces no matter how good it is.
But here's the thing. I hate advertising and how it has evolved. I hate how it's turned into people dinging my monthly bill so they can sell me a four letter word item I don't need. I am perfectly happy the way I am. I expand my own horizions by looking for things and listening to what people I know have to say about them and doing things myself, not by listening to people like you (nothing personal) who have an agenda to sell something that may very well be hiding things just for the sake of selling an item that in many cases I can pick up something else for a tiny fraction of the price that suits the same purpose. I don't want your new computer. I like my computer, I like how it works. I don't want your insurance, I got a killer deal and am doing well enough with it, and I've had insurance companies on my rear end so many times it isn't even funny anymore. Most insurance companies are scamming little... erks. I trust them, and by extension anyone who wants to sell me something, with a single virtual grain of salt that's about a fraction of a bit in size. The internet's certainly the worst way to get to me. But that's not what you posted about.
I have two ways of looking at you folks. The first is that I know what you're trying to do and that you have a career that entails you doing it. Most of the time I will say bluntly but not unkindly, "I'm not interested". I don't want to be that guy who drops a dozen F bombs on a person who's really just doing his or her job. On the other hand, I am bombarded with illegitimate garbage produced by people just doing their jobs daily. Those malware scams/ad links were made by people just doing their jobs too, but the sheer fact they exist lowers my opinion of the entire industry. I have become deaf to advertising because it's all people trying to sell you something through a single point of view, and I've grown tired of it. If you give me a sales pitch, I quickly say "not interested, never will be interested, please remove me from your calling list/don't contact me at this address again/*click* (on a bad day)".
Lying about your age is simply the easiest thing to do on the internet, and that's where advertising kinda falls apart. I intentionally throw out mixed signals sometimes in my browsing habits, assuming I give companies the chance to see them. I have nothing to be ashamed about regarding my age, but part of my sheer concern for privacy includes throwing out ages ranging from 18 to 60, and on one website I'm the ripe old age of 122. Kids want attention and respect and will simply lie about their age. Advertising to random internet goers these days is kinda asking for it.
I don't believe in deriding advertisers and the people that do need to get a better past time. On the other hand, given the difficulty of the business, I'd suggest finding another trade entirely, as it's about as inviting to nice people as being an IRS agent.
I can't really blame kids that do that besides saying their immature because of the exact fact they're immature and many will grow out of it (I won't say all or even the majority).
I didn't have much of a rhyme nor reason to this post, and I suspect neither did you, so I suspect both of us would be best off with a good night's sleep, because neither of these posts shall change the status quo.

We can't exactly believe everything you say. There is so much crap out there that we CAN'T believe it if we try. No matter what you try you WILL find that one kid that's like that, and the occasional child-minded adult. But people are generally happy with what they have when it comes to things (and they say that in a kind of rude way).

I'm sorry about your experiences and I wish you luck but as long as people like him do this, you might not get so lucky.
