Why?
I honestly don't get the hate for "Wrong Answer Only" threads I honestly really like them and think they're fun.

There are plenty of other types of engagement farming/xp-grinding e.g "would-you-rather" or "X vs. Y" that are common.
I don't see why these specifically are drawing ire (at that, it's more the low quality of many of the replies rather than the prompts I find boring).
Even with that issue, most of the threads seem to produce at least the occasional smirk/chuckle.

Thing about them is tricky to explain but it mostly comes down to 3 or 4 factors.
1- Engagement Bait
2- Overdone a lot
3- Lack of nuance
4- Betting on the community to come up with "fun" answers and not simple ones
I've responded to a few now, and the 4th factor quickly becomes visible as more people respond.

I'd fold 3 & 4 together; if respondents would put a bit of effort into at least trying to bit witty/humorous, the benfit/cost ratio would jump significantly
I'm guessing people get annoyed because there are so many of them.
I expect that's a large part of the push-back (& common enough with all sorts of fads)
That's understandable.
