Your opinions about "SWAG"!

Hello, fellow PlanetMineCrafter's!
Today I want to talk about a term you all probably know, "SWAG".
I know that alot of 12 year olds and teenagers have SWAG, so I decided to see what you think about it.
First of all, I would like to post MY OWN opinion.
Personally, I find SWAG extremely stupid and unnessecary. You can hate all you want, but I will not care, this is MY opinion!!! For me, it's just some idiots dressed in a dumb way, walking around saying "Hashtag YOLO, Hashtag SWAG". Also, they use "hashtags" on social networking, like Instagram and Facebook. SWAG seems to be all about finding a partner, in a desperate and stupid way. They say that SWAG will pay their bills, and don't work at all in school. They get F:s in school, and have to live in apartments working at McDonald's, have almost no money, and will probably find their cheap lives very boring. Most dumb people say it stands for "She Wants A Gentlemen", which is officially incorrect. The REAL meanings are these two:
Pirates in the 1600's called their stolen stuff for "swag", which is the first meaning of it. In the 1800's (I think it was), homosexual marriages were illegal, and there was homosexual people who met secretly and said "Secretly We Are Gay", which was shortened into "SWAG". Some idiotic teens just made something random and called it "SWAG".
(I bet someone with SWAG couldn't survive an hour without his/her iPhone!)

"Swag" is actually a word used before the pirates did, a combination of "sway" and "wag". It was used to describe the motion of a horse-drawn cart.

i see no problem with this, i say swag, i say yolo. i don't say it a ton IRL, but i sometimes say it here, i don't have a problem with people saying it, i haven't even seen someone spamming it ever, i don't see why this is relevent

I understand it when people use it as a joke sometimes, but I don't like the way the Facebook page "Teen swag" sees it, it's just idiotic.

Hm, I don't have much to add in here since I got the luck to not see much #swag people around, but from what info you have said, yeah, those #swag people seem to be really dumb. I hope to God that I never become one of those people.

Er...no. 'Swag' as used currently is short for 'swagger'. It's the natural evolution and shortening of the word, not something 'some stupid kid made up'. That's not how words work.

I agree with all of it except for:

There are quite a few people who use it in more of a hipster way at the university level. So I won't necessarily say that this supposed "SWAG" is synonymous with stupidity. I WOULD say, however, that it stands for a wanton disrespect for humility and caring.

There are quite a few people who use it in more of a hipster way at the university level. So I won't necessarily say that this supposed "SWAG" is synonymous with stupidity. I WOULD say, however, that it stands for a wanton disrespect for humility and caring.
