So my java edition of minecraft doesnt place blocks quite correctly.
When im in creative mode, and I start going at a high speed and placing blocks, why do only some of them get placed? Same thing with destroying them, only some get destroyed. and why is it that in bedrock, this functions perfectly fine and i can place blocks linearly just fine. by the way is there an option to turn off the gliding effect in creative? Like when i stop pressing the W key my character should stop, but it keeps gliding for 1~2 blocks.
Also, I experienced the problem on two computers, both running vanilla minecraft.

If you want to place blocks while 'flying' in java creative you need to get good at controlling your flight speed as you move faster than blocks can be placed…(Typically one gets 3-4 blocks before the player movement exceeds the placement reach)
This isn't limited to creative; something similar happens of placing columns while swimming with DepthSrider.
As mentioned the 'drift after stop effect' seems to be 'baked-in' and would probably need a mod to fix (something to remember the next time someone posts asking for ideas 👍)

this isn't a bug, java has always had increasing velocity when flying. bedrock doesn't, which is probably a holdover from the legacy edition. there's no way to disable it short of modding, maybe.
try spam-clicking (if your hands can take it) or walk/run on the ground instead to get around the delay in block placement. not much else you can do.
