So me and my friend are trying to join each others worlds on my WiFi. When I host it, it pops up for him, but just says "Connecting To Server..." and never joins. When he hosts it, it doesn't pop up. Please help!

Try opening a regular server and don't portforward. And the IP is going be the internal IP of the computer hosting the lan.

Port forward may be required if nothing else works...
Though disabling firewall works for most cases.

I can't join my friend's world when it's LANed. It doesn't show up. We both have allowed Minecraft through Firewall. We've done everything the OP has as well.

I had this problem a while back, you need to allow Minecraft through the firewall. I can't remember the exact steps I took, but DON'T turn off firewall, instead, just add an exception for minecraft.

Note:
Add the exception on all computers trying to connect to the LAN server.

I've tried to do that as well, but Windows firewall said it was allowed through, but still wouldn't work until I disabled it.

I think I know why...

Here is how you get there.

Thomas999I think the best way to prevent this Connection problem is by using a Cable. This will ensure the following:

1: You will always be online (Unless your router goes down)

2: If you want to play with a friend (on LAN) you will always be able to connect to his LAN. Though this only works if he has a Cable too...

And just a thing (I dunno if this makes it different) make sure that you play the same version as him! He plays 1.7.10, you play 1. 7.10

We are playing on the same versions of Minecraft (1.7.10). Also, what do you mean by cable?

A Ethernet cable.

I don't think I have one.

Are you running 8.1? I had this issue as well.

Only way I got it to work, was to disable the windows firewall for a bit. (Turn it right back on after)

But that may of just been my issue, I don't think any others had this issue, so take it with a grain of salt.
