Hey all, I plan on starting a modded server at some point with some friends, and I wanted to ask a few questions:
- What third-party hosts can you recommend for a server that will likely house 10 players, and maybe 5 or 6 mods? (I can try and choose a plan from there, but recommendations for those are always appreciated.)
- Are there any other performance enhancing mods that I should know about that work in, and/ or prior to, 1.12.2.?
- Recommend plugins and/ or data-packs for a 1.12.2 world.
- Is MultiMC a good enough launcher for putting together modpacks, or are there a few other alternatives I should try out?
This was a fairly short list, but it's all that I feel is currently necessary to help get my server up and running. This is all I wanted to ask for now, thanks.

A mod that randomly rickrolls people
Ok, try Aternos.org. I use it, and the only problem is that it can't support mcheli because Aternos can only accept java files :(

There is however an issue that you can't upload your mod files from your PC, so you'll have to manually install them from the website which is honestly painful and only specific mods/plugins that fit in a criteria are downloadable
Here's one thing I can tell you, datapacks weren't possible until 1.13 so you'll have to stick with mods
Noted, thank you for letting me know. Are server plugins still accessible pre-1.13? Mainly Quality of Life ones, such as Better Sleep, DiscordServ, etc?
I made a mod list that is worth checking out for fabric launcher, but most of them probably have forge compatible options.
I'm not sure on hosters, and I reccomend vanilla tweaks for datapacks. I also have no opinion on MultiMC.
