hey guys i have a couple of questions about a multiplayer server. 1. how can i be a GOOD admin 2. what should my theme be oh and if u could make it syfy . 3. is there a plugin for space because i want that for the space battles. 4. should it be on a big scale .5 very important DONT GIVE ME PEARS I HATE PEARS.

I'm an owner of 1 server, been an admin on 2, and am currently moderator on 2. I became mod instantly on one server for actually caring about it, not wanting to abuse my powers. And ever since then, I have a goal to fix every server I can. Whether it means banning idiots, or cleaning griefs, I'm up to it.
Could s mod lock this? It's 3 months old and someone has revived it.
I am a server owner since 2010 and telling you this:

this is a war server there will be griefing like destroying ships but there will be factions

To become an admin? Just be friendly, loyal to the owner and other staff members, be hardworking, and don't be aggressive to others, but don't be too passive either. Just be assertive.
Well seeing as I am currently an Admin (Got promoted from Moderator =D) on my favorite server I can give you some advice on picking people to be Moderators and Admins and what makes an Admin, a good Admin.
First off, don't play favorites. You're an Admin now, you can't bend the rules for anyone, even your friends. You can make plenty more.
Second, be fair. At one point you were just a Builder, or Guest or a plain old server member and didn't know the ropes, if people don't know the rules let them know (Although that's what a notice board is for), and if they break one (Depending on the rule) let them know first before you /kick, /jail or swing the almighty ban hammer.
Third, listen, listen, and watch. As an Admin you can't go and run around assuming things, let someone tell their side of the story, try not to interrupt. For example, on my server I thought someone was griefing someones house, I watched him for a minute knowing it wasn't his house teleported to him to get a better idea of what was going on, and as soon as I saw enough, I had asked him what it was he was upto. He said he had gotten permission from his friend (Since he plays on the server too) to add a small room in the house so he could live there too. Just to be sure I checked Big Brother to see what he had done before I began watching.
If you're bored and decide to smite, or terrorize people. Announce it and godmode the person before you do anything, some people don't take too kindly to being killed for no reason, especially in a mine or while they're building. It's bothersome and could scare people off of your server.
Lastly, try to help as much as you can, you're there to help people who need it, and being of second to most power (If you aren't the server owner) it's naturally your responsibility to help the people online. Sure the power is fun and you want people to figure it out on your own as you goof around and toy with the new shiny commands at your disposal, but you have to remember, you weren't always an Admin either.

to be a good admin u need to help the newly spawned byt telling what to do and how to do it if they ask for freebuild speak to the owner about it and especially dont abuse powers u must only mute when needed like spamming or fights or anyother type of thing thats bad help them get along if u have problems with the server tell the owner u think he should add something like a plugin or another admin be respectful torwards every1
