How can I improve this farm?
I built this automatic Sugarcane farm but it's pretty slow and doesn't collect all drops. Any ideas on getting more from this farm? imgur.com/a/36OA9c5

I know 3 kinds of sugar cane farms that you can make, and I know that you can improve your current one with 2 of the 3 designs :D

1. Classic solution
Pros: Lots of sugarcane, uses less materials, can be stacked.
Cons: Items get stuck often, takes up quite a bit of space
2. "I'm an engineer" solution
Pros: All sugarcane drops and picked-up
Cons: Can't be stacked, uses a butt ton of material, takes up a lot of space
3. Minimalist solution
Pros: Less material used, stack-able, takes up very little space (6x6)
Cons: Not all drops and picked-up

What I have right now looks a lot like the classic solution, but it looks like that water is flowing which is not what I have. I've got hoppers all in front of where the sugarcane gets broken. Got any guides on building the second one? I don't need that much expandability but I do want all drops picked up, and I've got a butt-ton of materials to build redstone contraptions with lol.

try making it one thing that flows across
you can also have a hopper minecart that rides underneath

Stationary water may be the issue, let me give that change a shot!
