and then this comes up:

click on the one that suits you.
and then download the current of them:
windows: try them out, i dont know...
linux: do you have a choice?
MAC OS X: download the "DMG" file.
if you must download a .jar-file:
paste the file in application support -> minecraft -> bin -> replace it with minecraft.jar or in minecraft.1.4.7 (or a a other: minecraft.#.#.#.jar) try it, i dont know exatly who of them

On windows, just go to the "run" icon, type in:
%appdata%
then click roaming.
It should have a .minecraft folder.
Right click the .minecraft folder, go to properties.
On the top of the ".minecraft Properties" window, there are several tabs. Click "Previous Versions".
Then click whichever one you want (probably the most recent in the grade you want) and click restore.
You're all done!
