You've only posted your server submission 20 days ago, and your server thread 25 minutes ago. You should work on maintaining and establishing your server on this site. As for doing that, there's a few ways to go about advertising, such as the chat room and server discussion area of the forums. Might even be worth floating around the Bukkit Forums, and the Minecraft Forums.
I assume you've used the chat room to advertise the server, and you have an active community willing to vote for your server/give it diamonds. Even if it's just 10 or so people, that's 10 votes a day/10 diamonds. But enough about this site, as you seem to have that handled. I'll go over a few other sites/plugins that are great for advertising your server.
Sites:
-MinecraftServers.net: One of the more unique sites out there. The voting system is simple, and never reset. Also, if money isn't a problem, you can pay for your server to be on the front page.
-Minestatus.net: Another great site. This mainly uses the Top List for server listing, so getting your server established here is going to be hard. Like the previous site, you can pay for your server to be advertised.
Plugins:
-Votifier: Votifier is a Bukkit plugin whose purpose is to get notified (aka votified) when a vote is made on a Minecraft server list for the server. Mainly used for information and rewarding players who vote. Basically, you over something to a player so they vote, which is added incentive for players to vote for your servers on other sites. Sites such as PMC and Minestatus support it.
-Minequery: Minequery creates a small server that listens for requests and responds with the port of Minecraft server, the current amount of players online, the max players cap, and the entire player list. Basically, it lets you stalk your server members and list the amount of players online. Sites such as PMC and Minestatus support it. Minestatus even gives you a boost to your server score for using it.
-Great Bukkit Plugins: Just great plugins in general. All credit goes to the site moderator ZaphodX, for posting the blog.

see i have alot of popular plugins and the server from what i can see is lag free...just have a hard time getting ppl to commit and play on it. as for skype and such im new to minecraft to im not too popular.
1. Tell friends over Skype, Twitter, Facebook, etc., and if they like it, they will tell others. I guess it just requires patience.
2. Have no lag plugins, plugins that are popular (Factions, iConomy, etc.), and plugins that keep your server in order. No abusive plugins might also help.
3. No corrupt players, mods, admins, and owners, and plugins to stop spam, grief, hacks, etc.

Well I can tell you now that the best way is to consolt not huge but big servers and say you will advertise your IP if they do the same for you
