You can't fix it. Your computer can't handle it. Either upgrade it (unless you have a laptop) or get a new computer.
Yeah, guys, no necroposting plz.
Download more RAM.
Add ram when you arent using all of it wont make a difference at all, so it is a waste. Thats like using 120gb of your 1tb HDD and then going "hmmm, i wonder if I add a 2tb drive if it will make my computer faster." Minecraft has almost nothing to do with ram, and most modern computers can support it. (300mb?!?)
Minecraft performs more based on your GPU, so if you have a 660 with 8gb of ram that will perform worse than a 780 with 4gb of ram.

Bump
1. Get Razer GameBooster or anyother FPS booster
2. Get Optifine
3. Install Java 64bit
4. Get more Ram

You might want to buy a bit more RAM. 8GB should be good.
He has plenty of RAM for doing something like Minecraft...
Ram won't do anything, MC for me only uses 200 mb on max everything.
wow... your computer has like 100% better specs than me xD
(Specs in spoiler)
Unmodded MC:24-60
Optifine installed:30-70

No? your specs are better.... Obviously, because you get way more frames, then he will ever get.
necro post much guys lol
Have you tried putting your graphics to "fast" in the minecraft settings?
open task manager and set Java to affinity
Reacted And CraftedPikachu35i have the same problem but much worse. here is he details: manufacturer is unknown, the processor is Intel(R) core2 duo CPU E400 @ 2.20 GHz
2G RAM installed
32-bit OS
windows xp home
service pack 3
the graphics card is intel (R) G33/G32
java version 7 with update 55
You can run Minecraft on that?
I'm surprised.
I ran Minecraft at ~20 fps with:
Windows XP and half a gig of ram. I don't remember the rest of the specs, but it was a terrible computer.
WITCH CRAFT!

You didn't list a GPU, so I assume you are using your IGPU, which is either a 3000/4000 or maybe even a 4600, but you didn't list which model CPU you had either, so, I can't even tell you which igpu you have.
Edit: I looked right over your model, my bad. Your igpu is a Intel HD Graphics 3000, which is not good for minecraft, at all.

Try using some different super secret settings. Oddly, some of them reduce lag!
Also on optifine turn OpenGL to fast(Recomended) or Fancy but dont have it on off
I've written about some of the best ways to speed Minecraft on my site linked below, but in essence:
1. Install 64-bit Java
2. Turn down video settings
3. Install Optifine
4. Update graphics drivers.
There's dozens of small things that all add up!

Oh, and my computer can support up to am i7-2070QM
Turn the distance thing to the smallest

1 Thing i want to tell everyone reading this.
Please try the MSConfig
Type this in your start search bar. msconfig
Once its opend go to the "Startup" tab
deselect everything from there. This will disable every program to startup
making your pc alot faster to startup and might even increase your framerate
You're welcome ^_^

5 Tips:
1. Get optifine
2. Turn off all shaders and resource packs
3. Have the graphics thingy on fast not fancy
4. Turn Clouds off
5. Dont have any mods but Optifine
My mc lagged SOOO MUCH (Before and after i got mods) then I got Optifine... A HUGE difference! I would have say 20 FPS now I got like 100 FPS

Only one thing helped me: Turning all resource packs off.

Yeah this is something not many people mention. Defragmenting your hard drive can help a ton when accessing data.
Have you installed Optifine and turned all your graphics options down to fast settings?
Okay, I will link you to a tutorial on how to make gaming/minecraft less laggy for you.
If this doesnt work I am afraid you would need to buy a new and better graphics card. If you do so you will not experience any lag whatsoever
