I loaded up a world in snapshot 13w39b. As you may know, in the more recent snapshot 1.7, the biome generation in savannas and redwoods forest have changed so that the wood, leaves and saplings of the trees in these biomes are different. I explored my world a bit, and encountered these biomes. Is there a way to edit, say, my world file and change all of THOSE biomes to the newer tree types? I don't just want to recreate the world, because I have buildings and items in my current world. If you can, a video tutorial would be appreciated. Thank you!

I believe that there is a "Repopulate" option in MCEdit. You can try your luck with that!
Would that also destroy any buildings etc done by players .. if so then that would seem to be no different than del the region files
Cant you just delete the various region files pertaining to the areas and that would force it to re-generate those particular chunk areas ?
the only way is generate a new world or go into mcedit and delete the chunks you want to be updated and they will generate back with the new stuff when you open the world back up i believe (correct me if im wrong)
Create a world with the same seed and use world edit to copy your base then just paste it into the new world
you cant use worldedit without downgrading to 1.6.4 and then you would lose anything from 1.7 snapshot so worldedit wont work there you would have to use mcedit if anything
sorry I mean't mcedit, don't know why I said worldedit
if u edit your world file it will just re-create the world making a whole new world and u losing your stuff just go to creative and replace all the wood is your best option without the risk of losing all your stuff XD
