Lan never works, they cannot resolve this. This works if you play in the same PC ! Not 2 PCs. Short: Minecraft BUG
1
Two ways to try.
1. Delete your .minecraft in your Roaming folder. Restart minecraft and try.
2. Force update your minecraft.
(same problem happened to me. I deleted my .minecraft and restarted. I usually works.)
Goodluck!

this 192.168.1.1:25565 the port is always diffrent and use direct connect to join

Oh yeah by the way are you in the same Update? try going to 1.5.1 together. It will work if the other works to plan
1
Ok sir I know what has happened. You are simply using different Web Servers. Try using Ethernet Cables to wire all 3 computers to ONE router, than it will work. Hope I helped!

lol i dont want to get rid of my antivirus thing neither does she so just came up with that!
1
there is a incredible big difference between "getting rid" of your antivirus
and deactivating your firewall
simply because those things have nothing to do with each other (except for the fact that some antivirus programms come with a integrated firewall)
there is absolutely no risk in disabeling your firewall
its only needed if you are under active attack
actualy you could jsut disable it forever because your router also has a firewall : P

The LAN search system is broken heres what you do:
COmputter1:(the Host): Open the command prompt(google it): and type ipconfig
itll show a list of wierd hacky programmy stuff look for somewhere that says IPv4 thats the local IP adress.
Now open the world on computer 1
On computer 2 connect to a server with the IPv4 address of computer 1.
Hope that helps
EDIT: Lithia ansered too oops didnt see that

Might be a firewall issue. Try (temporarily) disabling any antivirus or firewall software you have on both computers and seeing if it'll connect then.

That doesnt work!

It does work do not ly

Try connecting Via Local IP adress for example
10.0.0.138 would be the router
10.0.0.1 would be the first connected
10.0.0.2 would be the second connected
to check this
Simply look in the router console and see which local ip the 2nd computer is
OR you could do it the Harder way and open command prompt
type IPCONFIG
then scroll up and look for your internet connection
And look for the IPv4 Adress
It should look like
(INTERNET CONNECTION TYPE GOES HERE)
Connection-Specifiec DNS suffix . . :
Link-Local IPv6 Address . . . . . . . . : (IPv6 adress)
IPv4 Adress. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . : (Your Local Adress) <--- this is your local ip
Subnet mask. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . : (Subnet mask)
Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . .. . . :

This happened to me and my brother too but we fixed it by getting permission from the computer administrator. we just typed in the password and it worked.
1
it didnt work but does it make a difference that i had 5 numbers instead of 4
1
alright i will try

Here's something that worked for me :
Open up the the world to LAN.
It says : 0.0.0.0:(4 numbers here)
Keep the LAN world open and remember those 4 numbers at the end.
Minimise minecraft. Click start and at the search bar type in cmd.
A black window should come up. Type ipconfig in it. Get the IP Address
Tell your friend to type the address with a colon and the 4 numbers on direct connect.
Example:
192.168.2.9:2107
It should work.

I don't even think I have a ether cable!! D: D: D: D:
1
You have to turn off your firewall or unblock java on the firewall
1
I have a windows 8 and it didn't work until i turned of my firewall (just for lan) and it should work fine if you do this
1
Browsed the name ether cable on google
Yes you need an ether cable...
Yes you need an ether cable...
1
You don't need a cable if both computers are on the same internet or in the same house.
If they were far away, you still wouldn't need the cable, because there would be nothing else for the cable to be plugged in to.

Same thing happens with me and my brother, Look up how to fixed, nothing worked. :/
1
Do you know how I can fix that problem!
1
You need that connector thingy that connects your computer with the other computer ever heard of Local Area which means you have to connect your computers...
and BTW this does not work with cracked users unless they have servers like mine...

1
No you don't.... :/
1
Hoe do we connect
1
It might be that your computer is not letting others connect to it and visversa. My PC was doing the same thing with LAN'S.
1
I forgot to mention but my lan used to work with everyone!!!
1
Could you give us specs? It could just be your computer thats different
1
We both have laptops so does my brother~!
1
What kind of computer are you using? Laptop or Desktop
1
Ohhh. ok
1
We wondered that for a bit but then realised it worked with my btothers!
1
Do you have windows 8? Because I have the same problem.
1
My friend has windows 8 and i have windows 7 but that has nothing to do with it co it works with my bros window 7
1
She can connect to his LAN world, or he can connect to yours?
Are you IN your world when she tries to connect? Do you have the world set up to be open to LAN?
