Hey so I am trying to change my name in minecraft java, and when i go on to name mc it says it is avalible, but when I try to change it, it says this name is already taken. Does anyone know why?

It would be a guess, but if the name has only recently been taken by someone else, the search option that looks for available names might not know its been taken for a while until the database holding the names updates itself to the 'search' option that is telling you its available.

Last time I checked, it updates the name about 20-30 days after it has been taken, which means that the name was taken some time in the last 30 days.
