Help! my minecraft won't work! I need you to help me fix it. here's the problem.
I recently found out how to download texture packs. I downloaded one that made my minecraft - stop. like, entirely. first, i get the Log in screen, looking normal. then the ''Mojang'' screen, with the texture on it. then i wait. and wait. and WAIT. until finally..
I get a crash. Note that i have more than one texture pack installed. Fix this, get a subscriber (me)

Could you give us a link? It could be a bad texture file
you can just force update that will get rid of it
True. Or the file 'options.txt' could be deleted from %appdata%/.minecraft/
If your computer can't handle it then go into your texturepack folder and delete the texture pack you were using.
But my computer is crappy, and the only way i can get to that is to go into minecraft and open it.

136 isn't an exact pack resolution. it should be 8, 16, 32, 128, 256, or 512.
Depending on your computer, the higher the resolution, the higher the chance of the game not working. (Example: Crashing with a 512x512 texturepack.)
I can only use up to 64x64 without much lag. 128x128 or 256x256 are some-what ok, but give lag and may make Minecraft close by itself sometimes.
I suggest using 64 or lower, unless your computer has a great amount of RAM or a good graphics card.

Resolution of your texture pack? Higher resolutions can slow down your Minecraft and use up more memory. Also is the pack up to date?
