Recommended Plugins For New Server?

I'm here to ask for some advice for plugins.I want to help my friend start a new bukkit server and all but I have no idea what plugins to get except the fun ones.I need plugins which will help manage the server and keep griefing at bay.I also need plugins that has admins,mods,owners and such, any recommended mods will do

Man, you guys are behind the times. The only plugin you absolutely have to have is GriefPrevention to stop griefers. After that, what you add is up to you. All those you guys mentioned - WorldGuard, SpamGuard, LogBlock, LWC, etc etc aren't necessary if you run GP (since grief doesn't happen, you don't have to spend your time rolling it back).

EDIT: If you're running a PvP server, players will care if other players cheat. So in that case, you'll also need NoCheat (or one of its recent replacements, since the author quit working on it) and Orebfuscator (to prevent x-ray cheating).

HawkEye,WorldEdit,VoxelSniper,HawkEye,some kind of permissions plugin,Multi world,some kind of shop plugin,NoCheat,NPCs,essentials is good,and LWC if you want chest protection
