Swords
I've seen many videos where you can right click with a sword and block attacks, and then left+right click=block attack. Is this feature still in the game?

Before 1.9, right-clicking with a sword guards against incoming attacks for half damage. This was removed in 1.9 when shields and the offhand were implemented. If you play 1.8 or earlier you just rightclick with a sword. On servers like Hypixel with compatibility plugins that allow pre-1.9 and post-1.9 players on the same world, you can usually rightclick with a sword to block but it will show a shield in your offhand on your side.

it isn't in the game after 1.8.9.
you can use it by:
Open Minecraft Launcher
Go to Installations tab
Click "+" button with the text "new..." next to it
Add a name
Select 1.8.9 version
Click "Create" button
Go to Play tab
On the bottom left corner, press the arrow left of the green "Play" button.
Scroll until you see the version you created (if you didn't add a name it will be named: "<unnamed installation>")
Select it.
Press green "Play" button.
