Bedrock or Java?

I don't know if there is a difference, but anyway I love Minecraft
Bedrock, for the unified multiplayer and performance boost since it's coded in c++. I do love Java but the multi-platform compatibility in bedrock has me on its side.
I prefer Java. The reason is:
bc I play bedrock pvp
