Do you think the Minecraft world is flat, round or square?
I've been thinking about this a lot I am just not sure. What do you think?

The void is just the core of the planet! It all makes sense now.. Bedrock is just heavily compacted stone maybe? I dunno. Cube sounds right to me knowing minecraft.
The banner pattern says its a cube. Mojang laid the rule now.
Technically, according to the Banner pattern, its a cube.
Technically it is just a flat plane because if it was either a cube or a sphere no matter what direction you head to you should be able to return to the spawn point which is not the case.
But from our POF on Earth, it's a plane, so how can you explain that?
The difference between the Minecraft generated worlds and the earth is that one is a straight plane and the other one loops around itself. With this information we know that circumnavigation is possible in the real world, this is impossible in Minecraft because the game has set an absolute center and an absolute edge.
Also, don't forget that to the human eye only a 50 mile radius should be visible because of the Earth's curvature.

On Console technically, it can be cubed though, because you're only on a large Island.
If it was a perfect cube there wouldn't be a void, you would appear on top of a new area on the map.
It's a dinosaur. Everyone knows that!
well MC isnt a cube, round, or a Rhombicosidodecahedron. It is blocks built up from a flat plane of bedrock with nothing below and nothing above 256 blocks. Why? cuz its a videogame it doesn't need to make sense XD
Alright, genius, the reason I said it was a Rhombicosidodecahedron was to explain how you can have so many flat worlds without trying to go into a whole "parallel universe" discussion.
it cannot be that shape since not all the sides are square, which would mean blocks would be cut off near the world border
I just put the largest shape I could find for the reason stated in my earlier comment.
I'm not even going to try and argue with you on this one.

Minecraft world is a cube, and we're living just on one side of it.
I think that if the world is set to super flat, then it's flat but of it's not, then it is a bunch o' blocks mushed together.
I would say cube, just because the sun and moon are in the game /shrug
i think it's square.
I say a cube, because of the following reasons:
-It can't be flat, because there is gravity.
-And it's made out of square(ish) things so a cube is logical.
-And if you say sphere, that is assuming gravity works like irl, but it doesn't. Only 5 block(type)s are affected by gravity.
-The new banner sais a cube, so even mojang confirms this XD.

-Also the sun and moon are cubes?
Very much true, because I assume the MClecules and atoMC (get it...) Are also cubic, so the H and He in the sun are cubes, and same for the silicates the moon is made of.
(im so nerding because of a small discussion about a videogame)

My comment here explains the TRUE shape of the Minecraft world.
Yes, you just only see them from one side :)
Go in spectator mode and go under the world its infinitely flat bedrock lol.
well, i believe it would be flat, just as the border (barrier) is a square.
but i can't say its just flat, mountains. not unless y'all talking about the world itself.
minecraft has 4 ends, north, south, east & west. the barrier.
im losing my train of thought, so here.

round, cause of the gravitational pull, as it is a constant throughout the world(s), not weakening the further you step away from the center.

That is assuming gravity works the same as irl, which it (probably) isn't, because only 5 block(type)s are affected by gravity.
Check my post for more detail.

Obviously it’s round
Does a Rhombicosidodecahedron count as round? Referencing my comment here.
Uhhh... yes, I totally understand everything about your comment..
The idea is that all of your worlds are on a separate face, and not a parallel universe. The Nether is below each one, and the End(s) orbiting around the huge mass.
I think the minecraft world is just like the the gigantic rubik's cube they showed at mincon earth. :)
None of the above, it's variable.
Given the many differences between MC physics and RW physics, I see no reason the MC world needs to conform to the rules of RW geometry…
Thus, if one climbs high enough, the world is a 'flat', but finite plane…
however the edge cannot be reached (subject to the limitations of the server/version software 'gods'),
That said, for practical matters, treating the overworld as in infinite 'plane' 256 blocks thick about which orbit a sun/moon/stars is a sufficiently accurate approximation.

Real: Round
Minecraft: Flat (but square actually makes sense)

The Minecraft World is an ever expanding universe...
:0
Its a triangle...
Illuminati confirmed!
Illuminati confirmed!
It's more like the Black hills up around Silven Lake near Mount Rushmoor.
minecraft life is a simulation and ours is too.
what! does that mean everything is a lie.
It's a rectangle
I said round because 1 you cant have a workable world if a planet is flat gravity just wont work. And 2 because a square world would have obvious clifs while you were walking and im pretty shure there have been no records of clifs in the time of monecraft (10 years)
But remember this is video game physics buddy
It definitely is square because it can maximally grow ±30.000.000 blocks in the X and Z direction. That is a perfect square.
About whether it is flat or not you can argue. The bottom is flat for sure but would you call the surface with all its mountains and ravines "flat"?

only those who have found a way to proof what shape the minecraft world has can say what it really is, although i don't really think anyone has found a way to fast explore to the edges if the map, whats at the end of the world though? hope somone who has time to really explore to the edge of the world can come up with something usefull ;) for now i won't be voting for either
It's whatever you want it to be! You could go literal and say "It's flat because you can go to the edge after flying a while"
or you could say "it's cube/square because that's how the new banner depicts it"
or you could say "it's spherical because that's how the real world is"
or you could be completely ridiculous and say "it's a dodecahedron!"
or you could say "it's a Great cubicuboctahedron"

It is a Rhombicosidodecahedron because that would explain how you can have a whole bunch of different worlds. Also the Nether is below each world and the End is an asteroid field, orbiting around the rhombicosidodecahedron thing. Per each world, of course.
Kind of better than Nathan Adams/Dinnerbone's "parallels universe" theory because, while he is a Mojang employee, if the Nether and End are also parallels universes then wouldn't that mean you could build a portal to your other worlds? Also, you could get on Java servers from Bedrock and PS4 if that theory were true...
Edit: Changed stuff b/c I found shapes with more sides :)

It's a triangular prism.
Its a triangle and thats a fact! cuz Illuminati has already taken over minecraft!
