Team GHAST on Team Ultra-Hardcore, won!

      https://www.twitch.tv/gatkong/clip/NeighborlyAuspiciousGarbagePJSalt?filter=clips&range=7d&sort=time

Team Ultra-Hardcore is a datapack wherein nobody on the team can die, everyone only gets one life, and there's no natural healing (only by magical means). https://www.planetminecraft.com/mod/team-hardcore-yolo/

Here's a couple other highlights from the winning ultra-hardcore quest:

When we got blaze rods (key in Ultra-hardcore, because only by healing potions and expensive golden apples can you heal) https://www.twitch.tv/gatkong/clip/BlitheModernCodKeepo?filter=clips&range=all&sort=time

When we found the elusive jungle biome (took a whole session of exploring just to find one), also key in ultra-hardcore since you need melons to make the healing potion. https://www.twitch.tv/gatkong/clip/MoralBovineEndiveTF2John?filter=clips&range=all&sort=time´╗┐

The team wasn't without its failures, though. Remember, if any member dies, the whole team dies. We had more than a few failed attempts.

I died once to a random enderman assault https://www.twitch.tv/gatkong/clip/PowerfulNiceIcecreamUncleNox?filter=clips&range=all&sort=time

I died again to an overly affectionate creeper https://www.twitch.tv/gatkong/clip/ZealousSmokyGarbageSuperVinlin?filter=clips&range=all&sort=time

Just posted my "Your Structures" datapack, which I have been working on for quite some time. I'm pretty proud of this one. It will load your custom structures into random locations in your world, but biome specific for the structure you design. Desert things go in the desert... mountain things go in the mountains... you get the idea :)

      A "Fortuneately-Unfortunately" tale of Minecraft.

Yesterday, I was on my World's server, almost 30 thousand meters from home after having traveled through a 3k+ long Nether tunnel to get there, at the site of a Mansion I'd found, to collect the last known living Evoker there, and transport him home through the Nether tunnel and bridge system to the Home Base zoo we have going. Evokers, already an endangered species, were even more rare given the hunt for totems that already took place. He was a rare specimen, and was on his way to the zoo for safe-keeping and preservation. That, and he'd make quite the trophy exhibit so far from his natural habitat. After carting him on a mine track from his Mansion residence to my Nether portal, I passed through the portal first to make sure everything was ready for him on the Nether side of things, when unfortunately a Ghast caught sight of me, and blew out my portal.

At this point, I was looking at a 3k trek back home through the Nether, a major setback in getting the last living Evoker home to the zoo. After starting on the lonely run home, it occurred to me, I could fashion a flint and steel here in the nether. I had no flint, but there's plenty of gravel, and fortunately I was carrying an ender-chest, containing multiple shulker chests, already outfitted with various kits for different contingencies. Unfortunately I had no iron ingots, but fortunately it was entirely possible I had enough steel to smelt down to a single ingot... and I did... but unfortunately I had no cobble to make a furnace. Fortunately, I did use cobble in making the bridges through the nether to get here. In the end, I fortunately managed to obtain me a flint and steel and got my portal re-lit, built up some extra safety around the Nether-side, and was finally, after significant delay, ready to get my Evoker buddy through.

I uncarted him, and fortunately pushed him through. Moments later, after avoiding his latest round of Vex, I stepped through, to unfortunately find only a totem rotating there on the ground. Something, I don't know what, had killed the last of the found Evokers, in those few seconds before I made it through to see what happened. Disappointment to say the least. That means all this Overworld exploration over 30 thousand meters from home, followed by a massive Nether construction project to prepare the transport tunnel home... all this effort... was for nothing... nothing but a totem of undying. Not what I was hoping for at all.

And the long 3k plus trek through the Nether back home... alone. Fortunately, another friend, Tfin, was on the server at home, and offered to summon me home with the witch's cauldron (see the "Useful Cauldrons" datapack), but of course, to do that, I'd have to be holding a beetroot. Well, after rummaging through my ender chest of shulker chests... somehow I had missed preparing for an unexpected summoning, so I had no beetroot on me. But fortunately there was a village outside the mansion, and it might be growing some beetroot. I headed back through the portal, and got myself to to the village to check the crops... and unfortunately none of them were showing any beetroot. Without beetroot it was going to be a long run through the Nether, but fortunately I did find a farmer. I was hoping he might trade me for a beetroot, but unfortunately he had no such trades to offer. Then, fortunately, I remembered that the farmers will replant farmland. So I went to busting up all the mature wheat crops I saw, and sure enough he started to replant the crops. If only one of them was a beetroot, I was back in business for a summoning home.

Unfortunately, all his new crops were to immature to know what was what, but fortunately I had some bone on me. I quickly whipped up some bonemeal and began maturing his crops. Unfortunately, all of his newly planted crops turned out to be wheat fields, but then I noticed some other immature crops elsewhere in the gardens I still didn't know what they were. After some more bonemeal, fortunately one of the crops did turn out to be beetroot after all.

I let Tfin know I was finally ready to be summoned home. After the usual delay in time it takes for him to get the right cauldron recipe cooking, I saw the tell-tale particles forming around me, preparing me for my summoning. Unfortunately, the spell failed, and I was still more than 30 thousand meters from home, alone, and holding a beetroot. Fortunately, he had another batch of ingredients, and before long, I was finally summoned home.

Unfortunately, this tale ends on a down note. After trekking almost 30 thousand meters from home in search of an pillaged Mansion, to get the one last living known evoker there home to our zoo, after building a 3000+ meter tunnel and bridge system to get that evoker home, in the end, I lost the evoker, and returned empty handed, except for the beetroot. I got a beetroot out of it all.
