I can’t make up my mind! I’m about to start on quite a large build project in creative. It’s going to be a solo world to start.. probably with one or two mods. Now I had every intention to build on a flat world… I just find flat mode soooo much easier to build in…. However a few friends I’ve mentioned it to say they don’t like flat world so now I’m wondering…. Because long term once the build is complete I may decide to upload the world onto a server or make the map available to download…. Would it being a flat world put alot of people off do you think?

I’m very bad at world edit btw, that was my other thought xp

Thanks for the comments everyone! I’m building in flat at the mo… it’s working out pretty well.. I love the neatness of it! Basically building mansions and stables so won’t need to build down.

You can make and prototype the build in a flat world, then use basic world edit stuff to move the build to a normal world. Or, you could just flatten the normal world, build on that, then replace the terrain around it.

i personally use flat for building, but if you want a background that ISNT hand-made I would recommend a normal world.

use flat, but first, load an older version (1.8) and create a custom 50 block tall grass plain. then load it in 1.17.

If u useing a flat world u cant build down.
But in a normal world u can recreate the terrain with world edit.
So its lika a normal flat world but u can go down.

I usually use flat worlds to plan out builds and work out all the issues I may come across while building it. Usually then I build it over on a regular world because I can not build scenery and nature for the life of me.

How about flat but with some fake terrain around the edges?

Yeah that’s a good idea, I can use world edit to add some variation… probably quicker then having to flatten out massive areas…. Plus I’m not very good at world edit xp

Plan to build several things… but basically a huge huge town with mansions, stables etc so I guess there would be some landscape visible in the background

It depends what do you want to build
If the building is very big and no landscape would be visible, take a flat world
