I know right? It's always amazing when you get other people to think.

Yes. I know it's not your video, don't worry, you're still important in my life.

Oh. Try world edit. It's an in game editor.

Unfortunately, it is part of the mod "Single Player Commands" you'll have to install it to use World Edit.

Laughably, your first video just gave me an idea. I'm thinking of tearing it down from the bottom of the branches, and just build downwards.

I'm glad I gave you an idea .

But, that's not my video. I did not make the mod

Ok. I keep using the word texture and I guess with minecraft people are completely set on attributing that word to texture packs of the initial coloring/design scheme. I'm talking about texturing with blocks. Here's a clearer picture. Please, why I have been so...rambunctious is that I hate using MCEdit, and want to go back building in my survival mode, but I need this tree finished. My later plans is to make this world into a server, but I need a central area developed enough before I do.

My Design is pretty simple. Create a giant tree, with ropey veins of blocks that twist from the bottom of the branches I created, spiraling down the trunk. But so far I make it look ridiculous and patterns appear. If I can get this accomplished, then I can move to establishing the stone citadel that will have arms and slowly wrap itself around the tree, then I can move on to establishing piston released waterfalls for the giant farms below. Plus I have other ideas.

Btw, if people have any other good ideas, please tell me. Minecraft is amazing.

Youll need to suck it up and use MCEdit unfortunately, or it will be very hard to do. Just use the brush tool and choose "sphere". Choose log and brush along the surface in any way you want. Done, takes 5 minutes.

No sphere, just round, square, diamond. Everything is set to 3 L 3 W 3 H.

It gives me a cross which ends up showing as a pattern. Any ideas?

I'm pretty sure he's requesting that someone teach him how to edit the log's texture so it looks round instead of square. He wants it to look like an actual tree. I don't know how to change textures, but if you like, I can link you to people who do.

Yes, you sure did correct his spelling. Now, can I correct yours? I believe you meant "seems" not "seams". I also think that you meant I also thing that you probably meant "vines" not "veins".

The word "seem" means that something is giving the impression or sensation of having a particular quality.

"Seam" is a line where two pieces of fabric are sewn together in a garment or other article.

"Veins" are passages in living bodies that carry blood to different parts of said body.

"Vines" are any plants having a long, slender stem that climbs by winding itself about a support.

P.S. Congratulations on correcting someone's spelling and then failing so much more than he did.

Oh, I thank you for correcting, but I meant veins. Instead of being literal I like to idk use examples of other things for well...descriptive purposes. I hear it's quiet common. (Seam was my bad, I apologize). But thank you so much for telling me what I meant to say, Instead of a dictonary, I'll just contact you.

P.S: How do you spell dictonary?

HA, well that isn't the response that I was expecting. Thank-you for not continuing this flame war.

God, I think I'm falling for you. Common sense and a sense of humor?

So How would I raise of resolution without causing problems with the FR? I don't want lag, and 128 realism does that for me. Almost everything else does too. Sucks for a 2.2 processor and 3 ram.

Maybe a 32x resolution would do the trick. Nothing too excessive, but still enough to get the little details in there. I'm pretty sure there's a mod which makes higher resolution graphics not lag the game as much, but you'd have to look for it yourself.
Also I'm flattered by your compliments.

SmokeGunnerThe only thing ridiculous is what you're wanting. Minecraft is blocky it's made out of squares. We're all trying to help you so stop raging at everyone.

Go back to your kumbaiya circle. You fail for attempting to be a smartass by only reading the top message. Oh, and notice in my quote I corrected your spelling. Your welcome. I can edit your upcoming novel too.

I repeat, as the one above seams to have a selective reading process, I am again not talking about changing the shape. The trunk is a perfect square, raised to the sky. Perfect square. Now. How do I add blocks to the outer layer properly (texturing anyone?) so that It seams that the tree is natural? I'm trying to make the branches rope down like giant veins around the trunk.

The reason normal tree bark in the game looks so fake is because its 16x resolution. That's how minecraft was intended to look, but it doesn't give you enough room to make something feel 'real' when you look at it. If you increase the resolution, there's more room to add details which make it look like a real tree rather than a man-made pixel fest.

You're not an idiot, you're just inexperienced. You should probably stop yelling at people for trying to help you though, before an angry mob starts.

Higher resolution.

Not caring about roundness.caring more on how do I brush pieces to the trunk to make it cool?(kind of goes with the "I don't care about the shape, I care about the depth and texture"(NOT TEXTURE PACK)) I give up on this question.

Oh THAT! That would be impossible to make round looking, but you could place more tree pieces in the middle up and down of it to give a roundish effect.

Making that whole thing legitimately look round is impossible without a mod.

Probably making a texture pack with a higher resolution would give the opportunity to make a 3-dish effect, which can make the tree's outside appear round even though its a block. That or a round tree mod of some sort.

I think he means how to make the branches not have the visible tree rings. If you really want to do that you can just overwrite the tree ring texture with a bark texture. This will of course mean all the logs would no longer have tree rings. Up to you.
