Do you guys playing Minecraft "Singleplayer" or "Multiplayer better? Benefits of Singleplayer is that you are free to build whatever you want and let no one judge it. Also no greifing (except creepers) or stealing. And don't forget no lag! Benefits of Multiplayer is you can play with your friends and build together or just create a faction and work together to be the best! You could also interact with plugins and manage your own server which is very fun as well.

Multiplayer, hands down.
99% of the time, I'm in factions. There's more of a challenge than, 'Oh, I wanna build something'. With factions, you have to make it withstand a good tnt mission. (which i almost always fail to do...oops. )

But it also makes for some good camaraderie. Everyone, at the end of the day, is pretty civil regardless of any actual raids that take place.
Well...civil for the most part. lul.

Oh and then group raids are fun, too. 8D

I would probably pick both but for the most part multiplayer. Singleplayer is fun for making maps, and is more fun for adventuring.

I personally only play multiplayer when I want to win some rounds of HG with my friends, which, ahem, I have none. I almost always play singleplayer, not for survival, but for building in creative and posting it on PMC.

I do like multiplayer more, but i am playing more in SP due to having made (and still making) a map, you should do that in singleplayer.

Multiplayer, you can do everything you could do in Singleplayer with multiple people, creating lots more fun.

I started off Minecraft playing Singleplayer (Like a lot of people I know started that way too) and had NO interest for Multiplayer. But one day as I was making a town in Singleplayer, I thought, "Maybe I should try a server so I can make things like this and put it to use!" So that's where it started. I called someone I knew who played Minecraft and asked for a server. He gave me one and I LOVED it! I tried a few more servers but I liked that one the most (It closed down though D:) Omg what did I just say x3 I gave my boring story when I could have just said:

Multiplayer, I get lonely in Singleplayer

This is tough; I really love mods [singleplayer] but that's about it. AND Creative mode, of course. But that's on multi. I go with multiplayer.

i prefer multiplayer... no matter what you do solo it gets old after awhile, and even if lets pretend you just built a magnificent castle. you have no-one to show it to.

It is best for brand new players to play single player at least until the point they figure out how to get to the nether. After that, it is not fun in survival playing alone. Single player is really only still fun for quick creative builds to test things or to design things you plan to implement for multiplayer. You can find white-listed communities if that is your thing. Personally, I'm fine with just having a plugin on a server to prevent grief.

Who would select "none"? What do you do, stare at the main menu all day?

Anyways I prefer Multiplayer so that I can farm items off of people.

I don't know about you guys, but I'm a pretty good builder, and I like building with my friends, so I bought server hosting, we started building, and I decided, why not turn this into an actual server?

And to answer your question, why not do both. You could play modded survival on single player, and play creative with friends on a server.

I actually bought Minecraft for the singleplayer creative mode anyways so that's a given. Bit another reason is that the creative mode is such an awesome designing tool if you were to go into... oh... say, the video game designing business *cough* I wanna do that! *cough*.

Minecraft is no where near a good teacher for video game design. It's better for learning math, by far, or entertainment. And I assume by video game design you mean drafts of 3D models that would appear within the game, in which case I'd suggest using a 3D model making tool (Blender is a free one, and not that complicated if you know what you're doing) or taking a CADD class in high school or college.
