Welcome to Obsidian Roleplay !!!
We need all the adventurers we can get to come online and help us build our world and our story !!
We've only just begun writing the story of the Known Kingdom and many lands have been discovered. Feuds have broken out and wars have been fought. Evil has attacked and whole towns have fallen in its wake. The men and women of the Grey Shores have fled North to Obsidia ! The capital of the Known Kingdom and home the the humble town of Middleton. It is here where we hide and wait but the evil seems to be sleeping and has left us well alone.
We really put a huge emphasis on roleplay on this server and it is a must. Breaking character is not acceptable in anyway and will result in a kick.
The rules laid down by the Mayor of Middleton Grunt are as follows;
#No building in factions without permission.
#Do not make your own "rebel" faction.
#Do not annoy the OP's. We are working our asses off to make this a good server.
#You are free to ask us anything, but think about your questions before you ask them. You might know the answer yourself, or all you need is logic.
#If you are going to chop down trees, take the small ones. Do not chop a tree only halfway.
#When it comes to chatting with the other players, we want you to use:
/CH L for talking in Local! Please use this.
/CH G for reaching all players. If you need to say something to someone who's very far away and you can't reach to them.
/CH H is for Help and HELP ONLY. This is not a channel for chatting. If you ask a question for the server, ask on help channel and someone, somewhere will answer.
#NO HACKS are allowed. If you use fly hack, or any other form of command, maybe a mod that allows you to get items without working for them you are forever banned and there will be no coming back to the server. You will normally be talked to, but consider this a "warning".
#Do not annoy other players as these are mostly people who are here to have fun. Make the server a fun place to be. If we get complaints of you being an ass etc, you will first get a talking to, then two kicks, and after that.. ban.

Sorry to say all, but this server has moved on. There was some dispute between the staff, and it ended in the server splitting. The owner of "Obsidian Roleplay" Has either dumped the idea of this server, or just quit Minecraft all together. Because of his Elven height and Dwarf strength Braeburn is one of the most feared people of all Obsidia. I was on this server before, a couple months ago, and I wish to come back, because I LOVED the way it was. It let us create our own kind of story, and I wish to be with that again. I love doing role plays, and have been doing them for quite a while now. This one still achieves in bringing me back, so it is obviously worth re-applying for. I don't think I was ever banned... If I was, maybe due to inactivity..? But oh well, stuff happens.

Personality: Charming, humorous, athletic person.
Biography: The story of Alduron's life is a sad one. Not many tend to poke into his life, and when they do, instead of changing his like they want, he changes theirs. Beware of what you are about to read.
It all began when he was a little boy of about 4. His father just begun to show him how to swing a sword (a stick for the little boy). His father had uncontrollable rages when angered, and of course, little boys tend to go ape with a stick in hand. He hit his father repeatedly with the stick, to the point where the father took the flat of his blade, and beat him across the back with it. His scars are still on his back to this day. His mother died at 5 due to a raid from bandits at his house. He was now left with a VERY easily tempered father. At 6, another beating occured, due to him letting the sheep out of their pen and having his father go fetch them. This leaves him with a scar across his right cheek about an inch long, stretching from his cheek bone to the middle of his cheek. Due to him having to work the yard, and having to deal with his father, this boy became very strong for his age. At the age of 9, he began to go into an apprenticeship for Blacksmithing. During this time, his father felt it was time to make up for what he had done to the boy, and show him how to swing a sword properly. Soon, he was excelling at Blacksmithing, and was better then any other apprentice around. At 15, he was named Master Blacksmith, and soon began to learn
carpentry, building, and soon became a squire. At 17, his father was killed due to a rogue orc (Darn rain, makes them smell flesh). Alduron came home for a week to visit his father, and found a mutilated body. It looked like it had been rotting for a couple weeks. He was now an orphan. He didn't get to say goodbye, to even tell him he loved him even for all the things he had done to him. A sole tear rolled down his face that day. He turned back and worked harder then ever to become a Knight. At 20, he finally achieved this rank, being rank 1 in his "class". During one of his travels, he went to sleep at an inn, and got robbed. He now has nothing except his wits, and his skills. Let him carve out a new legend. The Legend of Alduron Elechurose.

Past Roleplay/server experience: I was with this server, then I went to Overture 3, and had a good time there, but there is something unique with this server that it just keeps drawing me back.
Why you wish to join: I wish to join because of my past experiences with this server. It was so amazing, and I want to come back.
Will you commit to the server: I will. I will try to be on when I can, so normally 2-3 hours on a weekday, and almost all day on a weekend when im not doing something.
I hope you guys do get the chance to look at this. I know when the server is ready, you will have MANY applications to sift through, and so I will be as patient as I can, so I hope I can come back.

Background behind character:My character is a Wood Elf who is 237 years old, he loves to craft, build and hunt with his prized bow. When he was 12 his parents where in the elven military and one day where called to war to fight the Orcs, they didn't want leave but the solders forced them, so he was alone, 12 years old, left in the dark forest, alone... 128 years later i had found a elven village, got a nice home and a girlfriend named Rose. Later that year the village was raided by a group of Orcs who had burned down the village and killed nearly everyone but the people who became prisoner, lucky i survived but was held prisoner...3 years later the aggressive Orcish settlement was raided by humans and Darves who's villages where also raided by the same group of orcs and i was released. His goal is to find his parents and his girlfriend Rose. (please ignore any possible poor spelling or grammar, i mean, he has been alone in the forest for many years, he doesn't talk much.)

I have been on many servers and i found some RP servers but they are all Play and not enough Role. I am hoping that this server will be a perfect balance of role and play .

Roleplay name: Skoll Blackblood
Background behind character: Skoll was born Alexander Solstis 45 years ago to the Solstis family. Outside, they where upstanding citzens. Inside, murderous Necromancers who only cared for power. Alexander was ment to take up ther dark craft and use it to manipulate the King for the Families own ends. As the years went by Alex was trained in many of the dark arts, however he felt this was wrong. Upon reaching 45, Alex was to take over his Fathers position in the King's court, a streak of empathy made him reveal the family secret. His parents where executed, and he was banished with a curse. Alex was changed into a mishapend wretch of a man, better to reflect what his family really was. Now calling himself Skoll Blackblood, he wanders the world looking for sanctuary from any Kingdom.

Krem had to choose between being a butcher or life behind bars. he chose to be a butcher, not of meat but of men. he went to every execution from there on forward, but he was the one behind the axe. Every time he killed, he died a little on the inside as well. when he was freed by the known kingdom's soldiers, he longed for a quest of valor to atone for his sins...

Past rp experience: Rp'd with friends a year ago when I played WoW. I love playing rpg's like mass effect, Skyrim, and fallout. (don't know if that counts)
Why I wish to join: I love to rp. I did it in WoW alot when I played. I also like the fact that it's possible to not go by the storyline of games but create your own in some of them. and I thought Minecraft would be perfect for that considering you already create your own skin/world. but... most of the rp servers don't take it that seriously. so I'm looking into servers like this.
Will I commit?: I have school 9 to 2:30 and 9 to 12:30 on fridays but other than that I will spend every second I can on this server. To make it shorter... HELL YEAH!

Why I wish to join: I love to rp. I did it in WoW alot when I played. I also like the fact that it's possible to not go by the storyline of games but create your own in some of them. and I thought Minecraft would be perfect for that considering you already create your own skin/world. but... most of the rp servers don't take it that seriously. so I'm looking into servers like this.

But I've been freed up and now wish to re-apply.

Background Story: The lineage of the Kharpath clan dates back centuries. A long line of madmen, heretics, and visionaries (depending on your point of view), and Zolog is no exception. He was raised by his maternal uncle Matraz. The fate of his parents remaining a mystery as Matraz has sworn an oath of secrecy on the matter. A secret he took to his grave. Groomed from a young age by his uncle in the arts of alchemy, young Zolog excelled in a variety of academic fields. Later in life he was appointed Grand Vizier to the mountain empire of Maldovia. There he proved his capacity for tactical thinking. After years of service a violent coup overthrew and killed the reigning emperor, deducing that his staff might be next on the chopping block Kharpath took his leave. The loss of purpose and betrayal by those he had thought trustworthy sent him into a deep depression. He lived the next decade as a hermit in the wilds, living off the lands. Lack of human contact and experimentation with some of the more exotic fungi in the forest may have driven him a wee bit mad.
Now, weary of his lonely existence, he's willing to give civilized folk another chance.
His skills have gotten rusty over the years, but he retains a mostly firm grasp on his skills in alchemy, healing and some of the basics of engineering. The skills of gardening and foraging have been in good practice, as well as his talents in the arts. He hopes to use his alchemical skills to discover vibrant new colors for his textile projects, and perhaps bring literacy to those who need it.
Will you be a regular: Yeah. I have plenty of free time on my hands to devote to playing here... just not on tuesdays.. and if I have the opportunity to do something on the weekend that doesn't involve sitting in front of a computer I'm going to take it.

The Gen Mo'Kai's home is the forest/jungle region Arborea. Structures there are built using natural materials such as stone and large pieces of bone. Some structures feature glyphs that glow in an aquamarine color.

I had no identity and its a wonder i even became literate.I remember reading a book i found in the trash and i took it back to my pit witch was just some straw and dirt.it was about a hero called Talix and he was just a normal farm boy who became a hero over a course of years. but on to the point, Talix inspired me to one day get out of that pit and discover myself and the world i never knew. so i started to do extra work as a way to strengthen my body. things like turning rocks into rubble with a sledge hammer and hauling things around faster than normal. and variouse other things until i gained enough skill to break through a solid stone wall. but the problem was that there were guards. about 60 in total just around the wall not to mention the surrounding land where there were even more.my masters were very rich people.and one day i heard my master talking about a secret tunnel one day.but there were guards nearby and i didnt want to get caught. so whenever i could i walked around the palace tapping walls pulling on torch holders and looking for consealed compartments where there may be a switch. i really considered every possiblity .And this went on for seven months,until i went to the masters chambers to clean up and replace candles. when i went over to a mirror and saw a faint hand mark. my heart pounding in my chest at the thought of escape i put my own hand on the mirror and it pushed forwards to uncover a passageway. and on the passage way there were tracks. so i went over to the cart store that was to the side of the tracks and heaved a cart onto the tracks,and when i put it on i heard the door open in the chambers. and then heard the masters furiouse scream and i quickly hopped onto the minecart and sped away with the masters screams echoing down the tunnel and i thought to myself "is this freedom at last" and so i came to the end of the tunnel and got out of the cart then i pushed the rotting wooden door into a sunbathed world of lush forests and oinking pigs.
and then after nearly an hour i heard s ssssssSSSSs and then everything went black. and i found myself in a small cave with a torch lighting it and a kind old man tending to my injured back.
and that is the day i felt i was born.

And since his eyes are glowing blue, what he knows aint really human, he tries to ignore the fact he might not be human at al. It too is unknown where he actually came from. Background behind character: Vel'skarr was born and raised in the distant Ruin's of Val'Garr, he was raised here because of his roguely parents that rebeled from there higher tribal elders. From this they where outcasted and shamed apon, so it was the only place they could take good refuge. He dident do much but his father Nash"Ral the Heretic decided it would be appropriate to give his son some honorable teaching's, this is how Vel'skarr learned most of his basic arcane abilities. One day while Vel'Skarr was in his study a large rumbling accured. His father bursted dressed with arrow's and blood on his back yelled to get to the lower corridors right away! Frightened, he did as he was told. As the Evil was befalling all of Obsidia in its wake its finally reached his families ruin's. He remained down as his family was fighting off the evil, as he heard his fathers sword fall to the ground, he knew what had to be done. He then grabbed all of his most precious belongings and some important text&spell books to study from, then casted a quick portal spell that only could take him but 2miles away but it was still far enough. It is then he lived off the wild that at one day in his camp he heard villagers, they seemed to be forming a huge pack and traveling somewhere, he even herd the word repeated "Middleton" so he guested that was where they where heading to. He then fallowed there path from a far enough distance behind them to finally reach the civilization he was looking for, something he could finally call home. "Middleton".

Background behind player: Emma Lynn is a young lady at the age of 18. She is a Mage who knows a lot of spells, but she has not mastered them all. One time as she was traveling in search of a place to stay during the night, a wolf had come out of nowhere and attacked her. She was left with a missing eye. She cast a spell to get her eye back but the spell had gone wrong. She had her eye back, but not her eyesight or eye color. She is now blind in her left eye and she has yet to find out the right spell that could help regain her sight.
