I can't really tell what it is... but here is some good tips.
• 1. Try to find a your own way of shading.
• 2. Don't make the whole thing on the 2nd layer. make it on the 1st layer, and then add details with the 2nd layer.
• 3. Learn color theory.

ERrrrr... 3/10? The cutting in half makes no sense, and the skin is not shaded or detailed well.

Nice concept! Maybe come up with a shading technique, once you have a shading technique it can slowly evolve into a BETTER shading technique. My shading isn't very good but I'm currently participating in a daily contest in hopes of improving. If you can't find a shading style, just look it up on YouTube, that's what I did xD!

Fill in all of the skin, you missed the top of the legs the bottom of the torso inside of the arms and the sides of the torso top of the torso, and one side below the head. also shading will help also. To help with shading look at others work, see what they do, use them as reference. Also, like my friend said don't make it all on the outer layer.

Ways to get better:
1. Shade the darn skins.
2. Make sure that you skin on the base layer and not the outer layer xD
3. Use the base for everything, and if you figure out how, add details on overlay :3
Other than those it’s pretty great for no shading and being on the overlay completely :D
