On vanilla, (regular Minecraft) Damage is made for whatever the tool is for, for exmaple, i diamond pickaxe does less dmg than a wooden sword, but the sword can't mine

Unless you have a mod that let's you combine them or adds sword properties to a diamond pickaxe, the diamond sword will do more damage.
you dont need a mod, you can find enchanted books or buy them from villagers and merge them with a pickaxe on an anvil, so you can have a pick with sharpness or a sword with unbreaking.
Well, you need creative mode to combine sword enchants with pickaxes..
Yes, I believe that, in survival, you can only enchant a tool with enchanted books that have the proper enchantment for the tool.
