Server page comments

So when I list my server on this website I only get very obscene comments on my server from people I've banned from the server for Hacking/Griefing.

I was wondering if there is a way to report users and or have them banned. Also is there a way to gain back server reputation after the user has voted it down?

My server:
http://www.planetminecraft.com/server/b ... /#comments

Bans showing reason and time the user was banned. (Before comments posted)
http://mcbans.com/server/72.188.38.205:25567

Thanks.

Having read everything people have said on this topic i thought i would throw my thoughts in. The
The idea of blocking someone from commenting or having a say on a server is all well and good, but the majority of the time a players ingame name will be different from there account name.

In and ideal world a system to have aposative and a negative stystem is great but unfortunatly we live in a time where trolling is funny, greifing is funny and people get annoyed and will manipulate these systems, get there freinds to and genrally ruin the reputation of a good hard working server.

I seriously would push for taking away the down vote system, mainly because as said before, its people who get banned that will just downvote. yes some people do it because a server is genrally not good.

Take it away please........if a server is bad the individuals will find this out.

I do agree with this!
If a player likes a server they can favorite instead of up-voting, therefore, people who don't like the server wont be favorite a server because it just makes it look better.

I still think the solution is allowing members to block members from commenting / voting on their submissions.

I really would like the ability to block members. I'm getting very frustrated with players that I ban from my server complaining, down-voting the server and making me look bad because they broke the rules.

The only reason I keep my server on-line to the public is because I love hearing all the great feed-back I get from the active players on my server, although the comments lately are very discouraging, I don't run my server for any kind of profit, I don't take donations, It's a free server.

If you could please implement a feature that bans players from viewing, commenting, and adding reputation I would appreciate it very much.

I find this such a great solution because I could ban players from the server page after they've been banned from the server and even provide proof they broke the rules and proof they've been banned.

The only thing that i think we might change is allow or require anonymous feedback to be assigned to any downvote, since I am not really worried about how many people upvote my project, to be immodest in the extreme I know my project is awesome, at least for me. What I want to know is why someone thought it was not awesome.

*Makes 20 separate accounts*
*Upvotes my server 20 times*
*Downvotes everyone else's server 20 times*

Meh, who said they deserved anything. =/

But this could also allow people to dishonestly remove downvotes that they deserve.

I think server edit pages should have a 'Banned' text box so people whose names you put in it can't even see the page. And it would remove all the content they put on the page too.

Maybe a server needs a certain amount of views/upvotes to block/ban someone from comment/vote.

What about a reputation system? 0-5? 0-10? if you are banned from too many servers you won't be able to view any of them at all? or access the site?

YES! I need this! 3 of my 4 downvotes happened directly after a banned griefer. And my server page gets spawned constantly with bad remarks. I agree with the ability to hide/block a PMC user from comments on my selections...even though most of them are TOO epic to downvote =]

That's true. Though, I would expect the member to then report it on forums or contact page.

banning could be abused. If someone is taking credit for something else, and people comment about how it isn't theirs, they could ban them, and they would get all these free views.

I've thought about allowing us to 'ban' other members from commenting on our own submissions. It would be a site wide feature. It could also prevent / erase that member's vote on your submissions. What do you think?

I don't want to change the way the voting system works for individual sections for several reasons. One, it would be confusing to go from section to section and understand what the votes / percentage mean. Two, it would be difficult to handle on the technical side of things.

Being able to ban a player from commenting would be nice, although I think it might be even better to completely remove the server's page from their ip address, so they don't come back with another account and or connect to the server.

I've noticed that problem too, angry people that get banned or can't get on the whitelist downvote servers. Should servers only be allowed to have an upvote?

Good Idea. Possibly a percentage of upvotes/uptime could be used?

ex: Server online for 10 days with 5+votes = 100% Favored server.

Yuo have the ability to delete comments on your own submissions. Sorry but votes can not be changed easily. I'll delete the comments and upvote for you.
