Huevember 2019
Huevember is over!
Hope you all had fun! See you next year!
Hope you all had fun! See you next year!
WOAH WHAT'S GOING ON HERE?
Hello fellow PMC skinners or artists alike. I decided to make a Huevember event this year. If you are unfamiliar with Huevember, usually you are given a different hue every day to make art with. BUT this is for skinning. Above are two lists with 29 normal palettes and 1 bigger one to finish it off. I'd like to give you all a choice, you can either use my premade palettes or make your own based around the main colors used in them. All that matters is it has the same relative ramp and main color. You can add more as long as the main hue shows. If you make pastel skins, pastel-ify it, if you make high sat skins, go ham with it. If I feel they follow it I'll add it to a collection I'll create of all the skins (not that I expect many participants) I don't expect complete skins from everyone, and doubt anyone but me will do each day uniquely. Also, I made it possible to combine the palettes.
Each palette was made with the one next to it in mind. So if you skip a day, feel free to combine them into 1 palette and go around that one. This works best in odd->even numbers (1 and 2, 5 and 6, etc) as it was made to work nicely together. These guidelines are more to add challenge, if you don't like it, do what you want.
As a final note, I'd like to add something about the 30th day. It has a 15 color palette that is comparable to a palette challenge, and it is made to be the central palette. Anybody who successfully does the whole event will be awarded a custom trophy by me, not that I expect many people to do so. Anybody who does at least the final palette and 3 other days will be given a participation award. If you don't skin and want to use it for art, feel free! You can put it all in 1 blog post and I'll add it to the collection. You don't need to credit me for anything, but I'd prefer you to use #huevember2019 so it can be found easily. It'll also help me make the collection.

I'm going to be away for a while, so I won't be able to post the day 30 skin on November 30. Would you rather have me post it early (26th), or post it late (December 1)?
2
the first is fine
2
Maybe I'm missing the obvious, but by "the first" do you mean the first of December, or the first option I gave (the 26th)?
2
haha december 1st
2
Would it be okay if I didn't do them on a daily basis, starting now?
2
If you want to start now, start on day 17, unless you think you can play catch up, but I'd prefer if you'd just go with the days based on whatever the day is when you make it if you can't do them all by the end, (if its day 19 next time you feel like doing it, do day 19, etc)

Hundreds of years in the future, a Spanish-speaking rebel against the invading alien armies will mistranslate a coded message, and mistakingly believe the title of this PMC contest contains the alien's secret weakness, hidden there by time travelers to save humanity from oppression and slavery. Since Huevos is Spanish for Eggs, this rebel and his allies will try to fight off the attackers by throwing eggs at them. This inevitably fails, and the now-vulnerable rebellion is exposed, dooming mankind until an avenging hero can arise from the ashes. You have been warned.
sorry, I haven't written anything in days. I had to get it out of my system.

If you think you can catch up, like doing multiple a day till you reach the current day, do that, but if you are just doing them daily id recommend starting where we are. Part of the fun is having a palette to skin with every day.

how do i get the colors? i tried downloading the photo and getting them from that but its too big
2
the photo has them all, heres a smaller version if it helps:

I wonder how long it'll take for it to branch off, or will pmc just keep making it smaller and smaller....

I don't mind, keeps the thread from dying XD

Would skins made from combining two days' palettes still count for the participation award?
2
participation award only requires making four skins, with one of them being the final day (the 15 color one) If you mean the completion award for doing all 30 days, it's fine, if you use every palette at least once, combined or not. so if you per say, did 14 skins with 2 palettes, one with 1 palette, and then the last one with the finale palette (16 skins total) it will count just as much as somebody who does 30 skins (one per palette)
PS: if you do combine, PLEASE do it with a combo thats odd+even (day 1 and 2) and not even+odd (day 2 and 3) the palettes are made to go very nicely together like that

I meant the participation award. I hope to participate, but I might only end up making four skins. Thanks for hosting this!

So let me get this right, all those in the picture are the pallets from each day and they goes across not down (Each pallet, not individual colours.)?
2
they go aross, left to right, like a book. You aren't restricted to a single palette though, like you can add some colors but you must keep the same ramp, my day 1 skin has 12 or so colors, but still sticks to the palette nicely. You can also do it every other day and combine palettes.
2
Could I do this with pixel art? (not skins)
2
Sure! If you put them in a blog I'll stick them in a collection I'm making for the event.
2
Hey! This looks like a really cool idea, and I'll be attempting to be participating.
However, just a side note- Do the skins need to be tagged with something specific?
