Musical Inspiration ~ A Skin Competition for any Level! (2.0)

Hello everyone! Returning back from the creators of the Pastel Galaxies returns another creative theme for a skin competition. New skinners to skinning experts are all in to enter and will be judged in groups! This time I will be judging with a mystery judge (soon to be decided) and they will be helping me judge all of your wonderful entries!
Theme: Musical Inspiration
The theme musical inspiration speaks for itself! If you want me to describe how it works, each participant will be creating a skin based on a song of choice! The song you choose will help you along the way to creating your entry. Listen to your song, look at the lyrics, do anything you think will help you to make this skin. All I ask for is that you find to incorporate the song some way into the skin, of how it makes you feel to maybe the lyrics that you read!
Rules & Requirments

This skin needs to be made by you! Not your friend, not your mom, you!
Make sure the skin is due before the dead line, January 20th!
Please do not edit/copy/reupload any other entries!
This skin cannot be premade, it has to be a fresh skin just for the contest!
Your entry must be tagged with musicalinspiration or it will not be counted!
One entry each, please!
Judges can make skins but they will not be judged for the contest results!
Don’t think you are limited to these rules because all PMC rules count as well!
Requirements: (requirements are specific rules towards this contest only and must be followed like a contest rule)
Make sure you use or describe in your skin description how your entry relates to the song itself!
Your song must either be PMed or be linked/mentioned in your skin description so I know you used the song!
I would appreciate if entries were based off of appropriate song choices, but that is up to your maturity!
At least listen to the song for about 10 minutes while making the skin to get a “feel” of what you’re going for!
Obviously you can already tell this contest really doesn’t have a lot of limits toward your creativity so have fun with it! :)

How Will the Contest be Judged:
All contestant entries will be judged by the following, (out of the number 10)
Relation: How well it connects to your song
Creativity: How above and beyond you went
Effort: How much effort you put into the skin
All skins will be judged individually by the three of these points out of 10 and will be added up. The people with the highest scores win the top three places (depending on how many entries we receive).
All Skinner Levels:
I will be placing all participants into different levels, a beginner, intermediate, and expert level. You will be judged in which group you pass in by your submission gallery. It is recommended to ask to be put into a group but it is not guaranteed that your opinion will make it through. It will be judged in my opinion of your submission gallery. If you have no submissions please stay honest and tell me which group you would do best in!
Beginner: Lack of shading experience and skinning technique, and uses of simple shading
Intermediate: More skinning experience and an understanding amount of experience
Expert: Very educated in most skinning techniques and have a great value of experience
Prizes?
Sorry to be disappointing but there won’t be a lot prizes for this contest, though the winners of first place will each get free hair bases. All winners will get shout outs of course but contests aren’t for just winning prizes! Feel proud for even entering, and like always some of my favorite skins that didn’t win will be mentioned at the end.

I agree with your honest opinion that intermediate would go perfect for you! If you want to have any challenges you can always switch to a higher level, but for you I can fix you a pet in intermediate. :)

Is a lyricless song okay? I’ve made one for a song with lyrics but I just thought of another song but with no lyrics so I’m wondering if I can submit a skin for that :3

Hi! Personally in my opinion maybe you would fit better in the beginner or intermediate. I’m not here to complain to everyone why they go in each level but it is recommended to be challenged. Take a look at the other contestants in each level and see where you fit in. I feel you are a very confident person and in my point of view I think intermediate would be great. 👍

oof I’m so sorry for not answering!! I’m terrible at keeping up with contestants lol. Anyways, intermediate would fit you well but if you’re up for a challenge all members are allowed to move up into another level, the expert level for you in this case. Honestly I would think you would prefer to stick in the intermediate level but it’s all on you 👌

Bases are allowed as long as you do not copy the exact pallets or shading. ❤️

I'll join, also this is my first time doing something like this so where would I need to send my skin to when it is finished, and do I just tag the song name. I am so confused, pls help ^_^

Of course! How you submit a skin is in the following steps. Though, if you were to rather PM me a file that would be great too! :)
How to Submit Your Skin
1. Go to the top of PMC and look at the following links (Community, Minecraft, Forums, Skins) and click on the “Skins” bar on top!
2. Look in the right side to the page near the middle and you will see a blue button that says “upload skin”. Click on that and it will bring you to a whole page to set up and upload your skin!
3. When you reach the page, title it, give it the proper category and gender, and upload the skin file and choose the model (arm length). After that click the small save button (it should be right below the upload buttons).
4. Feel free to fill the description box with maybe the name of the song, and what inspired you to make the skin! Also put the link down if needed. :)
5. Finally, look at the very bottom of the editing page to upload the skin. There should be a section that says “Tags / Keywords”! Enter the phrase without any spaces, “musicalinspiration” and click enter. You can tag it with whatever you want, too!
6. Just click the save button at the VERY bottom and you’re all good. 👌

hi I’m sorry, but if you plan on entering what level should I put you in. Please decide honestly which of the three levels (beginner, intermediate, or expert) you would fit in.

I wanna join :o I don’t know where I’d go though, because I do use a complex shading technique in some contests, but in my normal skins I use a simple style.

what ever you want to do for this contest is fine! Your style is your choice and I think you would do fine in either expert or intermediate! What do you think, I could give you some time to think if you wish. :)

I know you have been making skins for a long time and your selection would settle as an intermediate. I know in my opinion of course that it would be hard to decide but it’s truly up to you now. Would you like to be put into intermediate or take the challenge of the expert level? :)
