PMC Fighter
Welcome to PMC Fighter
This contest is not like your usual skinning contest. Here, the placement of your skin is decided by the power of its punch.
The winner of the tournament takes with him/her a custom trophy, and 10$ on Steam!
For this contest you must make a fighter. You will distribute stat-points to this fighter, which will be used once the contest starts. Once all the entrants have been found, random brackets of "fights" will be set up. For these fights, you must choose a combo to use against your opponent. All depending on the combo you and your opponent chose, and your stat points, one will be KO'ed. Whoever delivers the KO, survives and goes to fight in the next bracket. Sounds complicated? The rules will be explained in more detail below.

You must make it clear in the skin itself, that your character is here to fight and not to eat hotdogs or give hugs... unless it is hugs of death. Give it boxing-gloves, or big angry eyebrows, anything really that would make you think "This fool could be in a fighting game". The quality of the skin matters not, as long as I can tell it is actually a fighter. The backstory should be connected to the tournament. Why is your character fighting? What is he/she fighting for? Is the character on some personal vendetta perhaps?... Maybe even against another fighter in the tournament? Or is it just for the monitas perhaps? I don't know. You know though. I'd probably fight in order to mark my territory. I have a very big harem.

Stat sheet and combos
So this is where you gotta listen carefully. Every character has a MINIMUM of 5 HP before attributes are distributed. You have to distribute 25 stat points to your character. There are 4 attributes:
| Strength | Decides the strength of your attacks. For each point in Strength, your damage on punches is increased by 0.5 and damage for kicks is increased by 1. |
| Speed | Decides who lands their move first. If both you and your opponent's character choose to "punch" at the same move, then whoever has the most speed lands the punch, while the other character bites the sour apple and takes a hit instead of landing one. Speed is only applied to attacks, and not to moving. So if you choose to "Duck" and your opponent chooses to punch at mid-height, whether or not the opponent has more speed, you still duck and dodge the attack. |
| Hardiness | Hardiness decides your health. For each point in Hardiness, your health is increased by 1.5. |
| Wrestling | Decides whether or not you can grapple your opponent, and gives more damage to your grapples. Should your opponent grapple at the same time as you, whoever has the highest Wrestling stat gets to grapple. For each point in Wrestling, your damage on grapples is increased by 1. |
You may distribute a maximum of 10 points to each attribute. Now you need to understand the "combo".
So like in every fighting game, there are combos. For EACH fight, you must decide a combo of 5 moves BEFOREHAND, AND the combo should not be included in your description of the skin. Only the stats are included in your skin-description, while you will DM me your combo for each fight, so you cannot get counter-comboed. These combos may consist of a variety of movement actions:

| Move forward | Makes you move forward. |
| Move backward (Parry) | Makes you move backwards, parrying incoming attacks from same height as you, except from grapples and flying kicks. |
For each movement action, you can also choose to adjust your height by either jumping or ducking. Jumping puts you in high-height, ducking in low-height, and if you're not jumping or ducking you're mid-height.
| Jump (High-height) | Places you in high-height. When attacking while jumping, you hit your opponent from high-height and mid-height. If you hit, you deal double damage, however you are also exposed. If the opponent is attacking from mid-height while you're jump-attacking, the opponent always lands the attack, and you miss, and additionally you take 50% extra damage. |
| Duck (Low-height) | Puts you in low-height where you cannot get hit by high-height or mid-height attacks. Low attacks deal 50% less damage. |
| No movement alteration (Mid-height) | Places you in mid-height, where you can take damage from mid-height, low-height and high-height. |
In combination with a movement action, you may use an attack action, which can either be:
| Punch | Can be used 2 times per move in any order, fx. punch --> move back --> punch. |
| Kick | Can be used 1 time per move, and overrules any punch or grapple done by the opponent if done at same level, fx. both characters attack at mid-height or low-height. If one uses a kick, and one uses a punch, the one who kicks lands the attack. |
| Grapple | Grapples the opponent in a wrestling move for high damage. Grapples can be used on parrying opponents and grappling opponents, but not on attacking opponents unless you are not grappling from the same level as them. |
So a 5 move combo could for example be:
Player 1
1. Move forward --> Punch --> Punch
2. Duck and Move forward --> Grapple
3. Jump --> Kick
4. Punch --> Duck --> Punch
5. Duck and Move backwards (parry) --> Kick
Let's say an opponent's combo is:
Player 2
1. Duck --> Punch --> Punch
2. Kick --> Move backwards (parry)
3. Jump --> Kick
4. Punch --> Punch --> Duck and Move backwards (parry)
5. Duck and Move backwards (parry) --> Kick
The fight would then go like this:
1. Player 2 ducks and dodges Player 1's attacks, while landing 2 punches.
2. Player 1 ducks and dodges Player 2's kick, Player 1 then grapples Player 2.
3. Both players do a flying kick. Whoever has the most speed lands the attack.
4. Both players punch mid-height. Whoever has the most speed lands the punch. Player 1 then ducks and dodges Player 2's punch. Player 2 then ducks and parries Player 1's low kick.
5. Nothing happens because both players move backwards and distance themselves from each other.
So with all that explained, here is how the contest works in full overview:
* Enter a skin with a backstory and a stat-sheet.
* DM me your combo for your first fight.
* Once the fighting rounds begin, the combos will be used. If you win your fight, you may use the same combo again for the next fight, or DM me a new one before your next fight begins.

At the moment, there is no deadline. I will set one, as soon as I know I have enough to do one bracket of 8 people.

Yes, but 8 will be the minimum number of people for the contest. As soon as there are 8 entries or more, I will make a deadline for the rest who wish to enter the contest. When we hit 8,entries, the rest will have 2 weeks to finish their entry, and then the tournament fights begin.

Thanks 😎👉 but as I said in the contest description; the quality of your skin, is not the factor that decides whether you're gonna win or not. So even if you don't think your skinning skills are good, you can still enter and possibly win.

This looks so cool! I'm a bit confused though, should we put the fighting combo in the description of the skin, along with the backstory? Sorry for not understanding
That's a fair question. No, you don't include your combo in the description of your skin, only the stats. The combo is something you should DM me, so that people cannot just counter-combo people. You will also have to make a new combo for each fight. So if you were to win the first fight, eliminating one skin from the contest, then you may change your combo for the next fight.

Well spotted, Lumi_ fix your stat points. Right now you you got 28 points of stats. You must retract 3 points for your entry to be valid when the fighting starts.
Can we bring back a previous character that fits right in? 😁
As long as it a new and fresh skin, I don't see why a previous/existing character can't enter :)
