I hadn’t played Minecraft in a while, but recently came back to it for the first time in years. I’m loving it so much, all the new features are so cool (except the new combat mechanics on pc)

Well hi there, since I've been playing Minecraft either on 2009 or 2011 (Can't remember which year that I started playing Minecraft), I remember this website that I used for other things like texture packs, maps, and mods. I came back playing Minecraft this year after I've quit Minecraft in 2016. So that's all you need to know.
Welcome! I personally like the new combat mechanics myself. Then again I don't play PvP so maybe that's why.
