I'm sorry to those who hoped that the server would stay up longer, but I will not be able to keep it running for much longer. Again, very sorry for the inconvenience. There are other furry servers that are higher quality and will likely continue to run for months to come. I hope that you can enjoy some of those servers.

Also the server for the group is kinda dead. I don't think anyone really plays on it anymore, and I was already planning on taking it down soon. I'll leave it up for a little over a week, but then I'll probably take the server offline since it's become so inactive. Sorry for the inconvenience to those who had unfinished progress on the server. But we did manage to get about twenty total players to play on the server (not all at the same time), so I'd say that it was a success. :3

The furry player skin contest is almost over! Tomorrow is the last day to submit your entry if you want to participate in the contest. On December 1st, voting will begin and there will only be one voting session unless there is a tie. If two skins tie on votes and they are the highest voted, there will be a second vote between the two to break the tie. Each person gets one vote, and you are allowed to vote for your own skin if you'd like. :3

A spontaneous manhunt event has started on the server! this is just an impulse idea lol. Anyone who joins during the event will be given a compass that tracks me. Hunt me down before I get to the end dimension. I'll start with very few resources, but everyone else can use whatever they already have or get more resources. Join at anytime during the event, but it won't last very long so join soon!

I (Greppi) am not allowed to chat online anymore (by my parents' rules). I'll keep managing the Furries of Minecraft group for about two months, then I'll probably be leaving PMC unless things change. It was great being able to meet and be a part of this lovely community. I certainly have enjoyed my time on PMC. :3

Hopefully some others will manage the group once I'm gone.

And I was gonna make some digital art Christmas gifts for various users in the Furries of Minecraft group, but I probably won't be doing that anymore. The reason FluffyTheRacoon is the only site member who got one of the Christmas gifts so far is because I happened to make his first, and that was before I knew I wouldn't be allowed to interact with others on the site. Have a wonderful day, week, year, and life! ^w^

We're just over a week into the contest, and there is less than two weeks left to submit your contest entries. So far we have had five fluffy furry skins entered in, and you can see the list of entries at the bottom of the Furries of Minecraft group page. If you haven't already, give these entries some more competition by submitting a new furry skin of your own! (Participation is not required.)

Also, should contests after this one be done as jams? Because honestly I didn't even know about jams on PMC until after I had started the contest. >w<

Furry Player Skin Contest
The second Furries of Minecraft group contest has begun!
The contest is quite simple. Submit any furry player skin, one entry per person.
The deadline is November 30th. Any Submissions on December 1st will not be counted in the competition.
Please keep the submissions family-friendly. Also please avoid any excessive blood/gore.
The winner will be decided by a group poll taking place at the end of the contest.

Only prizes: A permanent display of the user at the bottom of the Furries of Minecraft group page, and a shoutout in a group wall post.

How to enter:
Make a new player skin and post it either to your content gallery or to the group content gallery, and include in the submission title "(Contest Entry)"
If you post it to your own content gallery, post a link to your entry in the group guest book so I can find it.
All submissions must be made after the contest has begun (November 10th, 6:00 CT)
Your submission must be fully made by you, and cannot use a template.

Due to varying popularity of members, I ask that you would please not make a post asking people to vote for yours, because then the more popular users could get the most votes just for promoting their entry in wall posts. You may make a post that tells people about the poll once it is released, but please don't tell them who specifically to vote for. This is to keep it fair for members who don't have many subscribers and who can't promote their entries as well. I want the votes to be based on the actual entry rather than who submitted it.

I just noticed that a /boop command is not in the BeSocial plugin. There is a /poke though, which is currently set to display a message saying that a player tickled another player when used. I don't know how to change the name of the command, but I can change the feedback that it gives. Should I change the command output to booping another player or should it still be tickling?

The first semi-big update has arrived on the Furries of Minecraft server!
And these features were actually added a few days ago, but I was taking a break from PMC so I couldn't post about them until now. So you may have already noticed a few of these features. :3

BeSocial plugin added
There are now social commands that you can use on the server. Please don't be too weird with these, but here are the commands available with the plugin:
/besocial
general command for the plugin. Use /besocial ignore <playername> to block social interactions with a specific player. You can also use the /besocial command to leave or rejoin the social program, determining whether or not any player can interact with you via the commands.
/poke
tickles another player
/handshake
/highfive
/hug
/cuddle
/pet
/kiss
/lick
/slap
/sharehealth
sends a player half of your health

You can now ride other players
This can be toggled per-player if you want to allow other players to ride you. If you have it enabled and another player(s) is/are riding you, you can eject them by crouching. Multiple players can ride on top of eachother, making a stack. Allowing other players to ride you is enabled by default. Right-click another player (who has the feature enabled) with an empty hand to ride on them.

Difficulty change
The server has been switched to normal mode. It was previously on hard mode to make villager zombification/reviving easier, and because you can easily teleport back to your death location using /back and pick up your items stored in a grave, but it seemed some frequent players may have still been dissatsified witht the difficulty level, so it has been brought down a little.

Trader Villager
On the opposite side of the spawn isalnd from the nether portal, there is a villager at a camp on the beach. This villager will sell you saddles, books, slimeballs, and nametags in exchange for emeralds.

Some more commands that you can use on the server for fun:

/sit, /lay, /bellyflop, /crawl, /spin

And apparently there is supposed to be a way to sit on other players' heads (which I think can be toggled per-player), but I haven't done it yet so I'm not sure how exactly it's done.

There is a new trader on the server spawn island! He sells name tags, slime balls, saddles, (and I think there was something else I forgot), and may sell more items soon. If you have suggestions for some items he should sell, comment them below. All the items are traded for emeralds at this time.

And to have some interaction, comment below how long you've been in the furry fandom in general, whether you're new or have been a long-time fur.

I personally became a furry in 2020 (I think), and then got more into the fandom in 2021 (so I'm still kinda new :3).

In the server console I can see death messages even when I'm not online, and multiple people have died of fall damage soon after they joined the server for the first time. I'm starting to think people are jumping off the watch tower at spawn...

I've been working on making a spawn island for the official Furries of Minecraft server. This is the current progress, but I may add some more things later. Also should I add an enchantment table, some shops, or some other things on the spawn island or just let players get those themselves?

So I'm thinking about having a little town at spawn on the Furries of Minecraft server, but I don't know what to name it. Any suggestions? If I use your suggestion, I will have a sign at spawn giving credit to whoever came up with the name for the spawn town.
