    Mad Libs is an annual event, heavily inspired by Skin Fight & the Skinners’ Olympics, held from October 1 to November 30 where two teams with silly names compete for bragging rights and badges. Earn points for your team by joining the six rounds, which change yearly, where the odds are oddly in your favor to receive a completely unique prompt every round, every year, every time! Looking for an extra challenge? Join our optional mini-comps for a shot at winning prizes from our talented staff. Balanced to be fun, competitive, & rewarding for all skill levels!     ˗ˏˋ ✄ HOW DOES THIS WORK? ⤸◝
    Upon joining, participants will be assigned a team, division, and round order based on their preferences, their style, and just the right amount of random chance. In that respective order, in fact! Here at Wheel Inc., we understand fall is a busy season for events! For your convenience, all six rounds run from event start to event end so you can work through them at your leisure. As soon as you finish your first round, you can move to your second, and so on.

    Your division pairs you up against those who use a similar style to give everyone, regardless of skill level, a chance at ending up on the podium. Round order is randomized so that you need to challenge yourself to progress! The points you earn from your entries will contribute to your team’s total; the team with the highest total at the end of the event is the winner. In addition to helping out your team, your entries can also score you achievements, special mentions in the results, and unique badges! The random nature of the rounds means you may get lucky with an easy set of prompts, or even luckier with something challenging but rewarding!

    What's the Difference Between Rounds and Mini-Comps?

    Rounds are the bread and butter of the event. They earn you points, which earns your team points, which helps your team win! If you do not join at least one Round, you have not participated in the event and will not earn any badges (including team badges).

    Mini-Comps, however, are completely optional. They do not earn you, or your team, points. They're an extra challenge and a chance for participants to earn prizes and extra badges. To join Mini-Comps, you need to meet certain requirements. You can read more about Mini-Comps and their requirements in the event forum or this widget.

    As soon as you submit your entry to your first Round through this form, staff will send you the prompts for your next Round! As soon as you get those prompts, you can start. This process repeats for all six Rounds.

    No. Just the chance to win cool prizes and badges ;)

    How are Points Calculated for Each Round?
    How are Points Calculated for Each Round? //

    Each Round has different opportunities to earn points, ranging from handicap points, to technical points, to creativity points. Since Rounds have different scoring metrics, and therefore may have different possible totals, we find the least common multiple to average the points into a 0-100 score. This is the score that is added to your team's total.

    In addition to Round points, extra points are earned a few different ways. Staff favorites per division, the first entries to a round, and entries made quickly all earn extra points. Earning non-Mini-Comp badges also awards you and your team some extra points.

    Where can I Find this Year's Results?

    Nowhere, if the event is still ongoing. Starting 2024, there will be a midway update on November 1 showing the current score of each team. This update will be posted in the PMC group, on the event forum, in the Discord, and on Skindex. Starting 2024, the final results will be posted January 1, about a month after the event ends.

      No, you do not have a choice on which rounds you join. If needed, please check your round order on the Event Sheet :D

    The "Round" Round

    Welcome to the “Round” Round.


    The quintessential Round. The “Round” Round, if you will. A Round of Rounds. The gimmick? Your entry will have to be for two types of contest, for example, a themed and a finish-the-skin, at the same time! With a total of 14 wheels down this rabbit hole alone, what could possibly go wrong?


    To Join -

    Rules -

    . Make a full player skin (regular or HD)


    . If you spin FTS-From-Overlay, you may not change the location or color of the overlay (except to shade it), but you can add overlay to change the overall shape


    . Except in the case of FTS-From-Overlay, you may edit the design of the base as much as you’d like or change/add/remove details, as long as it is recognizable


    . If you spin a Remake/DTIYS, changing the design is encouraged


    . If you spin two bases, you must combine them


    . Bonus points for combining your two contests creatively!

    Welcome to the “Color Me Proud” Round.


    So it may not be June.. or even September.. but being you is a 24/7/365 job, so why not celebrate it for every second? Every minute of your dream job should be a party, after all! In this round, you’ll have to combine an identity, an orientation, and a fun little bonus pride-themed prompt. Odds are, if you’re not representing yourself, you’ll be helping validate someone else!

    Feeling nostalgic? We’ve just the cure! Take a walk down memory lane and replay one of last year’s unique Rounds, at random, with a fresh new spin. You may get “Palatable” and need to redefine the rainbow, “Define Me” and need to paint-by-number your way through a black and white skin, “Collage” and have to accessorize your new favorite outfit, or “Frankenstein” and end up having your own “it’s alive!” moment. Ready? ‘Cause ‘round and around we go!

    Uh oh, it looks like you’re running low on clothes. Has it really been that long since you’ve done laundry? Guess you have no choice but to throw on the last few clean things in the house.. but maybe.. maybe this could turn out well? Even if they don’t match. Like, at all. Yeah.. let’s stay optimistic! You’ll be a trendsetter!

    Some say you are who you are because of the stars. Today, I doth appoint you scribe of the stars, soothsayer of astrologies. Author of destinies! Yada yada, et cetera. You get the idea. How does this work? You’ll be given a sun sign, moon sign, rising sign, and Chinese zodiac sign to combine into one skin. Let’s see who, or what, you create with them!

    Yes, I realize results are coming out over a year from the event.
    Health problems, life, delayed (then cancelled) commissions for badges, stubbornness; you know how it goes.

    Academia pulled a whopping 254 points from behind their ears while Spooky dug up the couch cushions to find 199 more points!

    MINI-COMPS

    Mini-Comps are unlike rounds in a few ways– firstly, they are their own little category in the event.
    Participating does not earn points for your team and as long as you’ve completed at least one round, you can enter them at any time.
    Secondly, they are ranked without division; there’s only one podium– not one for each division.
    Finally, the winners (and sometimes participants) earn prizes!

    So it may not be June.. or even September.. but being you is a 24/7/365 job, so why not celebrate it for every second? Every minute of your dream job should be a party, after all! In this round, you’ll have to combine an identity, an orientation, and a fun little bonus pride-themed prompt. Odds are, if you’re not representing yourself, you’ll be helping validate someone else!

    Welcome to the “Merry-Go” Round.


    Feeling nostalgic? We’ve just the cure! Take a walk down memory lane and replay one of last year’s unique Rounds, at random, with a fresh new spin.     Mad Libs may not have started as a fully fledged event, but it never started small. From its first iteration in January, 2022 on Skindex, there were already Wheel-lovers and Wheel-haters around every corner. August that year, I brought it to PMC where it was just as well-received. Back then, it was a one-round contest now immortalized as the Classic round which is a mainstay each year.


    Mad Libs’ popularity served it to become a way to connect with other skinners, share new ideas, grow your skills, test your creativity, and inspire each other as a community. I wanted to cement Mad Libs as a truly unique, creativity-first experience that creators of all skill levels could not only enjoy but actually feel involved in. That’s why there’s opportunities to earn badges, prizes, and more for all ranges of experience.


    Bringing on staff who were equally as passionate, the first annual Mad Libs event was born in October, 2022. Each iteration of staff works hard to create something special enough that you’ll be on the edge of your seat until next year. We’re constantly looking to make the event bigger, better, randomer! Feedback and suggestions are welcome. Encouraged, even!
