What exactly is PMC Death Battle?
A PMC Death Battle is essentially what happens when you pick two characters from a fictional universe and put them in fight against each other. You then ask the question "Who would beat the other one more often than not?" What we do after asking this question is pick two or more debaters and give them about a week to do research on the character they were assigned to. The debaters then use their research to try and argue why their character would be the victor more often than not.
What does a debator do?
A debater's main goal is to do any amount of research for the character they were assigned to, look for their greatest feats, and list power levels + more info on those characters. Afterward, they are meant to try their best to argue why that character should beat the other. (regardless of who they really think would win)

Obviously, a debater may debate in any way they wish, but there are a few basic rules!

1st. Both debaters must provide the best feats and skills they could find for their assigned character (giving sources or images for proof is optional)

2nd. They must debate each other

3rd. After the debate, they must sum up all their main points in the debate into a conclusion and send it to a Host so that it can be added to the blog made on the matchup. Here is our first matchup so you can look at our conclusions for an example. Examples
How does a debater win a debate?
To win a debate, a debater must try to convince anyone reading their arguments that they are correct. Then, they must get a greater sum of points when all the votes are tallied up. If a debater wins a debate, they may pick a prize. (more info on that further below)

(after you debate, you may try to sway the opinions of those who voted against you in hopes that they might withdraw their vote, but you may only do so with the research you have already done! NOTHING NEW!)
Where does a debater debate?
Debaters have two options. They can either join our Discord server to debate for about 1 hour or they can do it through private messages with me, The Last Kirbalorian, and whoever else wants to watch. (The debate will usually take place on a Saturday) When the debate starts, the spectators must let them have a debate without interruptions and may only ask occasional questions. (when doing debates through private messages it can go on for 5 hours. You do NOT have to be there the whole times in this option. You can come and go whenever you please)

(After the debate, a debater can request to help work on the blog that will be made on the debated matchup)
What matchup is coming next?
Undecided

Again, you can potentially affect what future matchups we work on by showing us your ideas via the guest book or private messages to Sithfruit and The Last Kirbalorian
What makes a good matchup?
Obviously, that is subjective, but there are a few things you could consider when thinking of ideas such as...

1. Good connections/similarities! (Example: A reason we chose Finn VS Iden Versio as a matchup is because SPOILERS! Both are ex-Empire/First Order characters who end up fighting for a greater cause)

2. How well their powers, arsenal, or abilities play off of the other's! (Example 1: Let's say character A can shoot fire from his hands, but character B can redirect fire. We could also say characters B can remove your soul, but character A can fight as a soul.) (Example 2: We could say both character A and character B have 3 different transformations in which they get strong. We could also say both characters excel at hand-to-hand combat)

3. How strong their rivalry is!(Example: Mario and Sonic do not have the greatest similarities, but the rivalry between Nintendo and Sony, + their fanbases, makes you want to see it anyway) (Other Examples: Naruto VS Luffy, Master Chief VS Doomguy, Pokemon VS Digimon, Star Wars VS Star Trek, etc.)

4. Good themes! (Example: Let's say we pick two old fashioned horror movie characters for a spooky Halloween themed battle. We could also pick a futuristic character and a medieval character for a Future VS Past themed battle)

5. Engaging character interactions! (Example: Perhaps you are simply curious what would happen if Light Yagami met SpongeBob Squarepants)

6. Contrasting personalities! (Example: Spider-Man and Batman have a great rivalry and solid connections, but Spider-Man is more cocky and friendly, while Batman is... not that. This could create unique character dynamics)

(when submitting your ideas for a future matchup, using some of these could make your ideas more interesting and potentially even convince us to do them)

We have recently put up a poll asking which one of the listed matchups you would like to see the most! Go check it out! ➡️ PMC Death Battle: Battle Match-up Vote (planetminecraft.com)

The winner of the jam will have their art be featured on the blog near the top of the page. The other art will be showed of on the blog in an expandable spoiler.

(If you want to show off your art without a jam in a future blog, you may either ask to in the Guest Book/Private messages to Sithfruit and The Last Kirbalorian)
What can a writer do?
A writer can write short stories for a matchup fight that will be included in future PMC Death Battle blogs! (Note: when doing this you must always make alternate ending in preparation of different matchup results)

(If you wish to include your story for a future blog, you must ask in the Guest Book/Private messages to Sithfruit and The Last Kirbalorian)

A writer may also just create fanfics and roleplays for fun!
What are the prizes?

What is a Speed Blitz?
A Speed Blitz is basically when a certain character is too fast for another to keep up. A general rule is that in order to speed blitz an opponent, you need to be about 10x faster than them.

Here’s a video showing off what that would look like ⬇️
