Definitely not recreating the style of the original Embers of the Forge Jam (credit to TheCrypteral for the format of the page and descriptions)

Welcome back to the Forge. (There's a link in the name, by the way.)

It has been nearly one year since we began this journey, and since then, many things have happened, but perhaps the most notable was when our founder, TheCrypteral, left this site to sort out his life and forge the path best for him. Just because he has gone, however, does not mean our work is done. We have continued forging in his memory, and we shall continue with this jam, named in tribute to the very first Forge jam.

All you need to do is simple: make a skin related to the Forge, such as a smith or some sort of armor set. We would love to allow Blockbench models of armors, but ranked jams only allow one type of entry, and skins are preferred this time.

What can I make?

As I said above, try to make something related to the group, like a Blacksmith, Whitesmith, Redsmith, or Yellowsmith (see the FAQ for more info on smiths). Another thing you could do is an armor overlay skin, which is basically a set of armor that others can texture over their own skins (usually personas). Connected to that, you could make a skin of yourself wearing armor.

In terms of technical details, each person is allowed to enter one standard resolution skin connected to the theme. While the system itself won’t allow anything that’s not standard resolution (like HD skins), us Forge Council members will personally moderate anything that doesn’t fit the theme.

Prestige Rewards

So in case you are not aware, The Forge (the group hosting this event), has an in-group reward and leveling system using an experience currency called Prestige. Each rank (listed at the bottom of The Forge's page) is based on different metals in nature and fiction, and have specific Prestige requirements to reach each rank. Prestige can be given in various ways (completing quests, making a wall post, creating content with The Forge, etc), one of which is through event rewards! And this event will be no different.Also, these Prestige rewards will only be given to members of The Forge, so if you win and aren't a member, you only get the trophy.But if you would like to win this and become a member, you can very easily join just by following the instructions at The Forge FAQ!

1. All PMC rules apply

2. Be respectful

3. All jam rules apply as well

4. Any breaking of the rules will result in disqualification, although if we believe you will follow the rules we might allow you to re-qualify

5. No inappropriate skins (no suggestive clothing, offensive themes, etc)

6. Please follow the theme of the jam, as there is an entire category of voting based on how well it fits the theme.

7. No HD skins. You shouldn't even be able to enter any, but we do want to remind y’all that this should be as fair as possible, and HD skins can often give an advantage depending on the contestant.

8. This isn't a requirement, but it should fit for use in-game! That is what the 'switch my Minecraft skin' function is for after all.

9. Previously made skins are allowed, but with one caveat: they must have been made in the past 3 months. Unfortunately, due to how jams work, you might have to re-upload it to enter.

10. As most contests go, you must upload your own skins. You cannot pirate another members skin and use it as your own entry, whether or not you have their permission or have credited them.

11. Collaboration isn’t allowed. Sorry. :(

You may only enter one, unfortunately. If you want to change what skin you enter (before the judging period) then simply repeat the entry steps and select a different skin!

How do I join and submit an entry?
To join, click the join button!

Just like most jams, simply press ”enter” on this contest page, and it will show a prompt that has any eligible skin you've made. Just select the skin you want to enter, select “save selection” and you're finished!

What is a smith?
There are four types (Blacksmiths forge with iron and steel, Redsmiths forge with copper and bronze, Whitesmiths forge with silver, and Yellowsmiths forge with gold)mand are people of a profession that works with metal of all forms, and shapes it to create works of art.

There are typically themes/items that they come with:

- heavy apron (made of leather)

- leather or heavy mesh gloves/gauntlets

- tongs

- hammer (half peen, not a hammer for nails)

- rough looks (dirt on elbows, light scarring)
