Season 2, aw yeah!! :D
palette
A jam for those who like to experiment with and create redstone circuitry and contraptions! (Season 2)
  • About

    Welcome to the Redstone Jam!

    Season II

Here you can show off your redstone skills and build cool contraptions to compete and win a prize to prove your redstone genius! Have fun and don't forget to check the ranking criteria to get an idea of how you can win.

    Good examples for builds are:
    • Redstone circuits such as computers or calculators
    • Contraptions such as piston doors or automatic farms
    • Machines such as slime block flying machines or auto-builds
    • ...or anything cool redstone things you can think of!

Important: the only requirement for an entry is that it contains something redstone somewhere in the build it qualifies. Items in item frames don't count, though they can be used in them. Also, redstone components (buttons, levers, dust, lamps, etc.) that aren't used for redstone purposes, such as it creating a redstone signal that is used or being lit up by redstone, do not count towards this requirement. This includes if it is just for decoration, or made to resemble something else (e.g. a stone button as a rivet, a wood button as a wood pin in a structure, or a tripwire hook as a sink faucet).

    Good luck! 👍

If you have any questions or concerns, please DM me (Lego_Master_A) and I'll help.

    59 day entry period.
14 day voting phase after the entry period.

    Rating Criteria

    1. Proper functioning
How well the build works—is it working? (1 for broken, 2 for working but still has problems, 3 for fully working)
      Rated 1 to 3
    2. Clear purpose
How easy it is to see its purpose and function without needing explanation.
      Rated 1 to 5
    3. Complexity
How intricate the circuit/contraption is—how many bells and whistles it has. This is given one star per clear special feature/function.
      Rated 1 to 10
    4. Neatness
How appealing it looks. An good example is a piston door that is fully flush and cannot see any redstone versus redstone being wide-open.
      Rated 1 to 5
    5. Interactability
How easy the build is to control/interact with—use of it and knowing how to.
      Rated 1 to 5

Well I made a last second entry, didnt have time to make it look nice and could have added more features and made it way more compact if I had the time, but i think i did well for throwing something together in 40 min.

Oh wow! That's great! Better late than never lol

And when anything gets pressuring i suppose it could be a sport. Guess that means that if you're not nearly done with an essay that is due tomorrow then it's a sport to finish it? XD

The gollems sometimes get stuck when they activate the slime luancher after a few loops , I added a few fail safes and a loop-back , added decorations and made the build look nice but I guess I won't be uploading the fixed/final version until the jam is complete oh well hope you enjoy the shenanigans anyways at least it is semi functional :)

The adrenaline of speedrunning a redstone build was kinda wild, who says redstone can't be an extreme sport xD

  • FAQs

What's this whole Redstone Gem thing?
The Redstone Gems are a virtual award for winning 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place in the jam. You win 3 for 1st place, 2 for 2nd, and 1 for 3rd. Each contestant's total count is tracked behind-the-scenes and can be requested by contestants. There is also a leaderboard on the jam's page.
Why didn't I get a Redstone Gem for participating?
Only those in 1st, 2nd or 3rd get them. The gem in the participant trophy is just part of the design unlike the others which show how many the trophy earns.
How do I find other seasons?
Past and future seasons are listed on the jam's page, with a link to each.
