rogerdillon300zxEvery time I set permissions to a group they still don't work. I had people join my server but when the did, they tried using warps but when the used the sign it wouldn't take them anywhere. They can't TP either even though I gave them permissions to. Anyone know what the problem is?

sometimes spawn protection (in server.properties) can be the issue, even though the person can have the permissions, the sign wont work because it's being protected by something else

    what's your server's IP btw?

this is probably a really stupid suggestion.
but have you tried restarting your computer? lol

you can A: dig around in the task manager (right click your task bar to access it and then go to the 'processes' tab) and end all java processes to make sure another server isn't running by accident

B: are you running something else (a game/service) on that port? if so then end that program or change the port your server is using

or C: have you tried restarting your computer? this will essentially restore your computer to a "default" state and if it still doesn't work then you must have a program running which is using the port you specified for your server. so you would then proceed to follow B

I could be wrong here.. but my guess is that parts of the main minecraft jar are missing.

X.class:? and X.jar:? at the end of all of the lines leads me to believe those individual parts are missing

guestdsharry potter series long crash of things i cant understand:

That length is more like 1 chapter of a childrens book length compared to some of the reports I have seen

at my old job we had a report that loaded incorrectly and it cranked out a 300-ish gb text file (due to an internal bug that caused the bug report not to write correctly either..lol)

OP, I'd check the java flags (JVM Arguments) you have set before you hit "play" in your launcher
    because this line...
    OpenGL: AMD Radeon R9 255

    and this line
    XX:HeapDumpPath=MojangTricksIntelDriversForPerformance_javaw.exe_minecraft.exe.heapdump

seem to be conflicting to me

    Click to reveal
in lamens terms, why is this flag in there "MojangTricksIntelDriversForPerformance" when you appear to be using an AMD card?

    Welp I'm interested.

is this a laptop by any chance?

    ha... nvm

what's it say when you try to install that driver?

IF it installs and doesn't give any errors (but mc still wont load) you might try following this.

I got it working!!!! For the hopes of making it easier for someone else I'll describe what I did.

I followed the instructions from the JPG but I also turned off automatic windows driver recovery. I used method 1:

    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2500967

After I did that, I removed all the drivers, uninstalled the AMD software and ran CC cleaner to remove anything from the registry. I used the AMD 13.9 software released 9/18/2013.

Step 1: I ran and installed the driver. Keep in mind when going to the "Custom" option you are not able to install everything off the bat. For example, CCC was not an available option. Then I restarted.
Step 2: I followed the JPEG from the post above, selected the device manager and selected the driver from my video card from the "list" in Device Manager. Then I restarted.
Step 3: I ran the driver again and this time set up gave me a lot more options of the things to install including CCC. Then I restarted.

After that I was able to open CCC and increase my scaling to have my screen fill the whole area of the LCD monitor.

I hope this can help some people in the future. Good luck!

    if I had to guess,
I'd say because you're trying to run shaders with "Intel(R) HD Graphics 4000" which can be very buggy (or just not work aka crash)

again... if I had to guess

reinstalling MC won't really do anything..cuz...mc doesn't really install :s

anywho, since you're both on cracked copies and Lan wont work, I'd assume you must run a server copy.
doing so is no big deal, just download a copy from https://minecraft.net/download and just tweak "online-mode" to false in server.properties.

    try this driver.

    http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/d ... 8%20-%2064

ps: if it still doesn't work after installing that, then you should probably post what exact error your getting when trying to launch MC

NamezNo need for that much ram, no need for that PSU, overpriced and bad GPU, overpriced mobo, no need for a 512gb ssd and a 3tb hdd.

again, I built this for myself.. which it does exactly as it needs to.
-I've maxed out the 32gb of memory and hit the page file before
-My total storage on this computer is about 70% full (and i've recently added 2TB onto it.. lol)
-The PSU is there so I can eventually do crossfire if i chose to do so (or for other upgrades/add ons i may want to do)
-I really can't complain about the card considering the gtx 970 is about the same cost and has roughly the same performance (http://www.hwcompare.com/18034/geforce- ... on-r9-290/)

and lastly, it's a really simple task to just slim down what I have and cut the cost by about 500$, which Does come under the OP's budget of 1500$ and does not sacrifice any performance.
    like so...

higher clock speed typically means more performance per application, and more cores typically mean more applications that can share the benefit of the high clock speed. which is completely irrelevant if the application is designed to take advantage of the multiple cores (which is usually 2 or 4 depending on the application, never ran across anything for 8+) Furthermore Intel completely throws the core thing out the window by adding hyperthreading, so 1 core = 2 logical cores, which for the most part, act and perform just like 2 normal cores. anywho, moving on...

so.. you can A: get one of these for 2000$
    http://www.cnet.com/products/apple-macb ... inch-2015/

or B: you can get this (and the extra parts) for about 450$ and give me 500$ for telling you this

I'd say B is your better option because I need money, and you need to stay under 1500$ Lol

I started laughing... then i started hardcore LOLing and then i got to the LMAO stage and now i'm ROFLing so hard i can barely get back up my chair...

you don't need 100MB/s upload/download, you don't need an intel xeon, and you definitely don't need 16gb of ram.

people do just fine with 2MB/s connections, and 1-2gb of ram. if you want 50 or so players then take the previous figure and multiply by 2... or just rent a server and skip the confusion that many people have (port forwarding... Oh Noez!!!)

if you're wanting to go all out then the main thing to consider is latency of the internet connection, because you can't really do much if your ping to everything is 200ms (I work for a large company and yes, there are internet connections out there, primarily in the countryside, that give 5MB/s up/down and have 100-400ms pings)
i'm truly surprised that stuff like VPN/VPS/Raid/network bonding and so on are being dragged up in this thread because really, the best thing to do, is start small .. test.. see the results and decide if you want better. Raid Arrays/ VPS/ VPN / Bonding / VMs /Rack mounted Servers are all enterprise level stuff... (for completeness i'm just going to throw active directory in there too lol) ... which is Way Waaaay above and beyond for what's required here haha
